I have written a well thought out story but i can never seem to write it as a script, i was wondering if i could send my story i wrote with the characters written in to someone who can then script it but also i can help write that script so it could be like i could learn as i write, i won't take credit for it believe me, i just need desperate help to write this story as a movie script.
thank you for taking your time and viewing this thread xx
If you like I will take a look at the story or what you have so far and give my opinions on it? I won't write a screenplay for you because I believe you and only you should do it, even if it's just one page a day, start it off and keep at it. You'll never get better unless you try, write a rough draft and post it on SS, this is the best way to learn.
You can't expect to make it in this field if you can't write your first script alone, buddy.
I apologize if that sounds harsh, but you gotta dip your feet in the hot springs to test the temperature or else you'll never have the confidence to go skinny dipping. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
My first script was a technical atrocity filled with errors and miscalculations in screen storytelling. I had tells, long action blocks, overzealous dialogue, on the nose expository remarks, camera angles and terrible slugs everywhere you could imagine. Hell, the only thing I got close to "right" was the title page and even then my email address was on the wrong side.
Point is, read a few pages of a script, see what needs to be done. Write a few pages, post in the WiP section of the boards for feedback and go from there.
Have a little confidence, else you'll get nowhere.
I'll give it a read Syed, everyone on this site is here to help ya, but you'll have a hard time finding a co-writer, nothing personal, we just want you and you alone to write this, that way we can help you become better.
Pm it or E-mail it to me, I'll give it a read and provide you with some feedback.
Don't get discouraged, like I said, do baby steps if you have to just keep pecking away at this, finish it, and submit.
