Sorry if this has been asked before, but I had a completed short script that I went to submit, but it says that submissions are closed until July 10th. That's perfectly fine, but are submissions only allowed at a certain time? Just curious. I've only submitted one other script on here, and that was a LONG time ago, like 10 years ago, and boy was it horrible... lmao. But do professional producers ever come on here and read the scripts? I'm not too familiar with all that yet. But I've been getting on a lot more lately, reading more, learning more. Trying to anyways!

Here:

The submissions are closed for now though.

Me too by the way - no matter how often I do that, whenever I wish to submit I go to Questions or Comments / Sticky: FAQ's  (got no memory)
And the first question there is "How do I submit"

Thanks for the reply, but that wasn't my question. I realize that submissions are closed, as I saw that and mentioned that in my original post. My question was, were there are only certain time frames as to when you are able to submit them? And if so, what are those time frames? Also, I asked if actual producers ever come on here and read the scripts that are submitted. Do you, or does anyone else know? Thanks!

I would wager Don is vacationing or something similar at the moment. Script submissions aren't closed often, and while you can normally submit a script whenever you want, they are posted manually by a person, so it doesn't happen immediately. He normally posts a batch of them at a time.

As for whether producers come on here looking for scripts, there are two answers to that question. Will you get any offers from MGM or Disney producers trolling here? No. Absolutely not. Searching sites like this would be a liability to them just in case someone somewhere claims their next film matches some plot they posted once. Therefore, they tend to keep away from sites like this.

However, do indie producers occasionally look around for something to fill their lack of screenwriting skill gap? Yes. I've observed it's mostly shorts, but every once in awhile someone will mention a feature getting some attention. As to how many of those actually get produced, the number would be fairly small. Sometimes, connections are made here where someone likes a particualr stlye and might ask for something that may or may not work out.

What this site is great for is feedback and refinement of the screenplay rather than hoping to get noticed. For the most part, the getting noticed bit is on your own. If you plug in properly, however, you'll end up with something that will be worth shopping around to those who are willing to have a look at unsolicited submissions.

Best of luck.

Sorry if I seem impatient, but it said script submissions were closed until (today). Does anyone know when it'll open back up, as it has yet to? Thank you, and again, sorry if I seem impatient. Just anxious to get my short submitted.
