Swindle Movie by Brian Sharpe - Comedy - When movie tyrant Arnold Benedict (spoofing Terry Benedict from Ocean’s Eleven/ Arthur Case from Inside Man) rips off Danny Seawater’s “Get Bitched or Die Cryin’” screenplay, Seawater summons a crew of “professionals”, (Characters including: Paulker and Tyriek spoofing Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson’s character from 2fast 2furious. Robby, Angel, Jake, and Jeremy Mercy spoofing characters from Four Brothers. Ginger Knowsall spoofing Halle Berry’s character from Swordfish, etc.) to take out Arnold Benedict’s three high tech, state-of-the-art movie theaters in the same night. 143 pages - doc, format

If you're writing a spoof you shouldn't have to explain what's being spoofed.

I so confused by this -- and I'm on the first page.

I just want to say that I generally discourage these type of comments -- and I was going to delete this.

But before I did, I took a look at the first page myself.

Goodness.  I can’t believe this goes on for 140 pages.

The comment stands.  Is this author around?

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

You will soon learn that I am very fair in my observations. Brutal, but fair. Thank you, Bert, for backing me up on this.

The Beach Boys song is "Barbara Anne", not "Boperane". (It's around here that I stopped reading.)

These spoof movies are being exceedingly overdone nowadays, but I can understand the appeal of writing one, if only to practice writing, to get the feel for it. But it's best to make things quick, snappy, not 140 pages. And, as has been mentioned, you really don't explain what you're spoofing in the text of the script.

To be fair, many of the problems with the humour of the script (cheap jokes, jokes that will date extremely quicktly, etc, etc) are shared with the spoof movies that actually do make it to cinemas.

Really, really, way too long, though.
