The Way It Spins by Irin Evers
In this moving coming-of-age tale, a Brooklyn teenager deals with a tragic mistake while trying not to let the guilt destroy his life.

In this offbeat world where clowns are a racial minority, a clown father is abused by the police and abducted by the clown mafia Ė and his half-human nine-year-old son sets out to find him.

If this Irin Evers is some sort of pro already established in the industry, why is he entering these type of things? Sounds a bit suss to me.
