I'm not a big fan of (writing) 3-5 page scripts myself, (I don't think I even have any in my arsenal), but I came across this this morning and know I've read a couple good ones around here, plus I know there's some MP writers hanging around.

It is free, (so I don't know if it'll be a crapshoot or not), and although there's no money reward, it might come in handy for anybody looking to pad their credits.  The deadline's October 31st!

Here's the website with the entry form:

EDIT:  JUST FOUND OUT IT'S FOR NEVADA RESIDENTS ONLY

Thanks Mark,

Had a look as I am always on the look out for short script competitions.

Alas, one condition is that it is open only to residents of  Nevada - bit of a challenge for me.

My scripts  HERE

The Elevator Belonging To Alice - Semi Final Bluecat, Runner Up Nashville
Inner Journey - Page Awards Finalist - Bluecat semi final
Grieving Spell - winner - London Film Awards.  Third - Honolulu
Ultimate Weapon - Fresh Voices - second place

Wow.

Didn't see that in their official rules.  They may want to put that on their main page somewhere.  Sorry.

I guess that cuts down the competition and quality of the scripts by 99.845%.

(No offense to any Nevada residents.)

Hi All,

I took the initiative to email them and ask WHY ??????

Below is their response FYI.

Maybe enough emails and pressure will open the competition up to ALL.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you Alex for your inquiry!

This is the first time we're doing this contest and we'd really like to create an incentive first for local talent. The winning writer will also be able to come on set and at this time, we wouldn't have the budget to accommodate an out of state applicant. In the future, we will probably open it up, but for our first, run, we'd like to keep all talent local.

I hope you understand, and hope that we will hear from you in the future!
