Looking for shorts, preferably nothing over 6 pages although we'll consider more if it is one (or two) easily obtainable location(s). We're looking to make more than one, preferably scripts we can shoot in a day or two.

The reason why I'm not writing myself is because my shorts are little better than mini features and I don't really get much of an urge to write shorts. I'm far more comfortable with features.

We have an excellent DP/Cinematographer. I will direct and produce alongside my filmmaking partner. We have access to some quality cast/crew and we take things very seriously.

Full writing credit will go to the writer with an IMDb credit. No payment, unless we love the film that much where we want to own it outright, whereby we'll negotiate a price to buy it... otherwise all rights will remain with the writer.

We're open to any genre and have an eager team ready to roll. We want to shoot a few quick films to build a portfolio in between making the bigger stuff. Smackhead is a huge production and is going to take us a long time to finish, and we're desperate to get stuff completed so that we can apply for funding on a feature. Whatever we pick will be made, and made relatively quickly.

I've checked out the scripts on Janet's shooting shorts blog page and have pulled 5 so far that I like the look of, but they will all need to be discussed and agreed upon. The final decision isn't mine alone.

Good opportunity for all involved to gain some credits and build a portfolio. Feel free to post links in this thread or hit my email dustin7375 at gmail.com

If any of mine down below appeal to you, I'd be more than happy.

With a couple of tweaks I think Beautiful Souls could make a decent short.

Very nice of you to reach out to the SS community about this! Based on your short film All About Janet, I predict you'll get a lot of scripts coming your way.

I'm a little embarrassed about Janet, but even our worst critics concede that it is a good try for a first film. We played by ear and learned a heap of things along the way that will make our next film far, far better.

I'd also like to add that it doesn't matter if any of the members and I haven't seen eye to eye in the past. I've forgotten about it already. So, if you're of similar mind and have a great short script that you feel deserves to get made then I'd like to read it.

Now there's the attitude. Not enough of that about.

You can make some of mine. Obviously I expect heavy financial recompence when you make a fortune from them. Naturally, any debts you incur whilst making them have absolutely nothing to with me. PM if you're interested.

Either way, good luck with it all.

Of course, my One Zero One Room comes to mind because it's generally one interior location. (a OWC, 8 pgs put could be cut to six) The downside is that it is on the surreal side. Maybe Platinum Phantom #1. Platinum is not on SS. It is over at Talentville and once upon a time at  DVx User.

Platinum Phantom #1 5pages.
A criminal mastermind opens a dimensional portal which swaps school children with mannequins. It's up to the kid left behind and a superhero to solve the case and save the day.

Yeah I'll read it if you want to link me or send it to my email. So long as the story makes sense and there is a decent punch line. Oh and thanks for that link. I imagine there will be quite a few scripts up my street from that OWC... despite it being 2011.

I decided to upload Platinum at SS yesterday. So it's waiting in the wings somewhere for the general masses.
I'll shoot you an email.
Subject line Platinum Phantom.SS

UPDATE
I subbed it to SS as well. The script is up here.

I'm going to be meeting with my producer partner next weekend to discuss our next move. He's liked quite a few of the scripts I've sent along.

If there are any more... not necessarily short, anything easy to film with a decent punchline will cut it. Send them over to me before the weekend.

I'll email you the updated PDFs of Scooter and Simpatico.

Not necessarily up your alley but you and your collaborators might want to think about adding something to your 'show-reel' that is a contrast in genre, to display your versatility.

We're looking for all genres. The other producer has different tastes to me and so does the DP. We're open to almost anything. So long as it has a decent punchline or message and is written well then we're considering them. Comedy, romance... doesn't matter.
I've got your email and I'll pass the scripts along today to give him time to read them. Cheers.

Wouldn't some of the OWC's fit the bill for what you're looking for?

I went back as far as 2011. Sticking only with active writers.
