I know nothing more than what's on their website, but might appeal to some...

You should enter that one with the girl in the fence, unless it got picked up already. That was a good one.

Thanks Steven, glad you liked it... but as Libby notes, there's a weird clause in the entry conditions... There's a couple of bigger comps that have similar clauses... Though why is anyone's guess!

It's good that they're willing to make the script.... but, like that other comp I posted, one still has to pay.

Essentially we fund the shoot on the off chance that it is our short that is shot. For all we know, they might already have a great short to shoot, but lack the funds to do it. I know, let's make it a competition and have the stupid writers pay!

I shy away from paying for anything (writing-wise) these days. It's me that should get paid.

Could well be Dustin, but, and this is only my own Machiavellian logic, but if that were the case and they had a short they wanted to produce... why have such a restrictive caluse in the entry criteria... You'd think they'd want as many entry fees as possible.

But you are right, there's a shed load of paid comps out there, some that offer nothing more than trophies or certificates, some have decent cash prizes and some have access to the 'right' industry professionals.

Hard to sort the wheat from the chaff sometimes!!!

Maybe they should put everyone that paid a "Thanks" at the end of the film, like Kickstarter, Indigogo, etc.  Since the writers that don't win, at least they would be listed!  Maybe some sort of door prize at least, a pen, a pencil, a coozie... something!

Just kidding of course.
