Apologies if this has already been asked.

Has anyone here ever tried entering it?

Yeah, I joined back in 2016.   It is the REAL DEAL.  One of the top premiere competitions out there for screenwriters.  But this is the first year that I've actually entered one of the contests  (action/adventure).   So, will see how far I can get.

Heck, I'm even thinking about entering the "Public Domain" comp.  That sounds interesting.

Lots of reviews out there about the site.  When you have time, if you haven't done so... I highly recommend you check some of them out.  Read their reviews on facebook.

- Hmm positive...almost too positive. Is Ghostwriter (if that is your real name) in the employ of Screencraft Inc.?

Nah, cheers for that. It looks to be legit alright. I've heard it pimped through a podcast I listen to which has solid credentials so I may give it a go. Thanks again.

Screencraft is one of the competitions worth entering. They are recognized by the industry and listed in most Top 10 screenwriting comp lists.

One of the things I like about them is they don't just have one big competition for everything. They have quite a few different ones split up into different genres and lengths.

I had a go last year at the short screenplay contest and managed to get to the quarter-finals. This year (so far) I've entered the TV Pilot contest and really bit the bullet and also entered the big one, the Screewriting Fellowship contest. Mad I know, but worth a shot.

I think the Screencraft comps are growing in reputation and agree there's lots of variety in the different comps...

Still not up there with Page and Nichols though...

When it comes to contests, I do recommend going to MovieBytes for views and reviews of screenwriting contests.

- Whoa, just checked that, 150 bucks with feedback, that's saucy. You'd want to get guaranteed-to-sell-your-script notes and a free rewrite (with notes incorporated) for that kind of coin.

I think the contest is pretty legit. I have a screenplay that I submitted to the Science Fiction contest.

The only problem with Screencraft though is that there isn't much of a restriction on professionals entering the contest. So competition will be fierce. You need to have made less than 50k in a year and many professionals don't sell a script every year.

I think the script that won the horror category last year was from a guy who has several movies already made.

I didn't go for the feedback option. I never do unless they include it for free like they do at Bluecat.

Free rewrite with notes incorporated for $150? Try more like $1500.

- The exaggeration detector is weak with this one. I was, not you...exaggerating I mean.

Always think it is dodgy when they want you to pay something for feedback.

With screenplay comps in general, is there any guarantee that your script will be fully read? Could the reader just get to page 50 and then check out?

True, as with any contest, you don't really know what their process is, how much time they give your script or individual tastes and quality of the judges. One way is through testimonials of others and even then positive opinions are often proportional to how well their script was received.

Following up what happened to the winners can be a good indicator.
