My daughter had her baby yesterday. Sylvia Marie is her name. She's cute as a button, and has a head-full of hair.

She is my sixth grandchild.

So, Mike, how is your wife doing? I know she was due around the same time as my daughter.

Congrats, Cindy...that's great news.

The wife is doing fine...still about three weeks from the actual due date, but I think she's just starting to drop so I expect to be going to the hospital at any time now.

Awesome news Cindy!!

How big was this one? I remember the last one, I felt sorry for your daughte it was so big.

Don't worry Mike. First ones are usually late.

My first one went two weeks over. i had to go jogging to get things started.

That's great, Mike.
Since you're a first time Daddy you'll have two things to remember when it's time:
First off, remember to stay calm.
Secondly, but most important, make sure your wife is in the automobile, and not left at home.

She was 6 pounds and 14 ounces, 20 inches long. A normal size baby this time.

The Mommy averages about 100-105 pounds. She is the one who is a model, and an actress at the Renissance Festival. Her last two babies were both 10 pounds, but she got back into shape quick.

Wow, Cindy! That's excellent news! I always thought you were like in your twenties. lol.

I'm glad there were no complications with the baby. And congrats to Mike too. I hope it's born healthy!

Congratulations, Cindy. It's good to see people are still using the older, classic names rather than just the trendy ones.

And Mike, congrats too and best of luck.

Third, if you want to rush the delivery (say, you have plans with friends) fake a heart attack in front of your wife.

Thanks everyone.

The baby was named after my mother. I thought that was a very nice thing for my daughter to do.

I looked for her picture online at growingfamily.com, but it's not there yet.

I imagine my daughter will make the baby some sort of jeweled or pearled gown for next years festival.
