Well, in a way.  I re-wrote a version of it to work as a play and that play is getting produced.  I'm really quite excited.

It's part of a program my school does each year called the spring plays festival, or director projects.  Every student who is in advanced acting (meaning they have taken all the acting classes advancing them to the final senior class--adveanced acting) picks a play and produces it and directs it by themselves.

But first they have to get the plays acepted by their teachers.  Usually plays written by students are never accepted--it's never happened since I've gone to school here, and I know quite a few people have tried.

Anyway, thats my little bragging paragraph.  I am quite excited for this, and will be sure to tape it so that anyone who wants to see it can.  These are usually fantastic productions (depending on the student director--the one directing substitute angels is a good one, btw).  They are all one act plays that are shown usually in groups of three over a week in spring.

Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know.

Congrats, Tyler. I liked the script and think it would work well as a play (a special congrats for being the first student to have their play accepted by teachers). Hope all goes well.

Hey Higgs that's great!!

I think you did great with that script. I think it will be great as a play. Maybe you can do what Shelton did and post the play here.

Good luck with it.

Very cool, Tyler. That is going to be a fun production...Curious-did you keep the big musical number in the beginning? That seems like it would go over a lot better on stage than on film...

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the congrats.  Blakkwolfe, that scene is still in the play, and I do think it will work well on stage, as thats where that angel first appeared.  Pia, I could post the play, except ublike Sheltons, nothing really changed in mine.  Shelton's urned into a musical, I just had to change a few stage directions to make the time traveling work.  If anyone would like to see it, I would be happy to e-mail it to them.

So you've probably been all like "where's Tyler?  What's Tyler been up to?" or possibly "Wow, things have become a lot less annoying on the boards recently"

Either way, I have something to show for my absence:

In case that doesn't work....:

The play didn't really work out, So I filmed it.  It's a little..well,It's not all I hoped it'd be, but I think it turned out okay.  Feedback greatly appreciated.

Also, if you've read the script, you'll notice some chunks missing, mainly just about all of the ghost of christmas past.  All I can say is, um, those scenes were too difficult.  I've added some new stuff you may enjoy, though.

I'm about two minutes in, and I've already noticed that Substitute Angels is in dire need of a cameo by an SS member from Chicago.  One who can sing Beauty School Dropout without the assistance of a cd.

More later as I watch.

And I'm done.  Pretty good stuff with a couple of editing glitches aside.  I liked Clarence and his whole Walter Brennan thing.  Pretty good acting on the whole.  A few instances where the characters were talking too fast, but I didn't have too much trouble picking up on it since I'm used to it.

Liked the use of the disappearing effect and the random cuts to you in front of the fireplace.

Nice work.

Thanks mike.

This was a good learning tool for directing with an "I'll have to edit this together nicely later" mindset, and I thin the next one will have less editing problems.

Oh, and if I ever refilm this, you better let me know who that SS member with the good voice is.  I haven't a clue.

I can understand that.  Pants is still kind of new around here.

Thanks Sandra, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I might re-do it next year, now with the added information of having done it this year.

Thanks again,
Tyler.
