Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums here. Been coming to this site for a while. But this is the first time where I decided to just throw it all in there and sign up for the forums.

My name is Matt. Or you can call me Steelio. I'm just your average joe that's looking for his place in the world. I've been looking for a job for a little while. Also have a beautiful fiancee that's very supportive of me.

Recently found my passion for writing rekindled. I use to write fan fics and everything. But I've finally just decided to take the plunge and dive into the world of script writing as well as the world of virtual series.

My favorite movie that I grew up watching as a kid would have to be Nightmare On Elm Street. I was kinda disappointed with the remake initially when it came out. But it's grew on me after time. It is what it is. So my favorite genre of movies that I enjoy would have to be horror. Just cause like I said I grew up watching the 80s slasher films.

Where are you from?  Does she have a sister?  You can tell her I'm romantic, energetic, I love walks on the beach eventhough I don't live by one anymore and I'm very caring.  (Chicks dig that.  Pretty much unzips their pants for ya when you mention stuff like that.)

Glad you got back into writing.  I got away from it for a couple years there, too.  I'm glad I got back into it.  Anyway, welcome to the boards.

- Mark

P.S.:  I was only half-kidding when I asked about your fiancee's sister.  Does she have one?

RC, she's not married yet!

Hey Matt. Good to meet you. Still pretty new here myself. I will second what was said above, you will learn, and the more you participate the more you will learn.

I think horror seems to be the most popular genre here, so you will be in good company. There's plenty of contributions to the other genre's too.

Two pieces of advice: first, if you read any work here, and hopefully you will, don't be bashful about leaving an opinion, and honesty is always appreciated.

Second, I would encourage you to write some shorts and post them when you feel they are ready. Nothing wrong with posting a feature, of course, but shorts are a great way to start getting reads and feedback.

At some point coming up, maybe May or June, they will have this thing called an OWC, which they do regularly. I encourage you to participate. You'll learn a lot and have fun.

And hide your fiancee if RC's around, he's a charmer!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes so far.

No, RC she doesn't have a sister. lol.

Yeah, I'm currently developing an idea a friend and I had for what it'd be like if they were to make a live action X-Men tv series. Basically the format would be similar to a mix-up between Heroes and Lost.

I'm also toying with the idea of presenting my interpretation of what a sequel to the Nightmare on Elm Street remake could be like. As well as if that doesn't work out as well as I'd like, then I'm just gonna do my take on what i would have liked out of a remake or reboot of the franchise.

I know not original the Noes ideas, but ya gotta start somewhere.

Hey dude, I just joined the forums here, but nonetheless, Welcome! I was just wondering if you have ever seen the show No Ordinary Family. The writing and acting aren't very good, but it has a similar plot as X-Men, where there is a family with super powers fighting other villians with similar powers. The only difference I can think of is that in X-Men, you mutuate into your powers, whereas in NOF you get injected with a syrum. But yeah, Heroes is very similar as well

I actually haven't seen No Ordinary Family. And I'm a big Julie Benz fan. I've liked her ever since her Buffy the vampire slayer days. But that show just kinda didnt seem alright to me. I dunno I just couldn't get behind it, mostly cause I was dealing with the cancellation of Heroes. And I could see that it was gonna get cancelled so i figured why start a show that's never gonna really go anywhere in the end.

But yeah, so far I have the basic story idea mapped out for the first season of the virtual series (if it goes according to the plan, that'll be seven episodes.) But its definitely something that like i said again goes according to plan has the chance to be something special.

A virtual series that i've been reading that's pretty awesome is Spider-Man: Gifts and Curses over at http://mzp-tv.co.uk .

welcome Matt.  Best of luck to you.  Writing a good script involves reading a lot of good scripts.  Read and learn from them, then work on your screenplay.
