Hello writers,

Im looking for a SHORT vigilante script. Something like the movie Falling Down. (1993)
Just a guy who snaps completely because of problems in society. If you would know anything, please let me know.

Movies like death Wish are great, but they are quite bloody and im not really looking for a lot of blood. Thanks in advance!

Great site by the way

You are right DFens, the aren?t any vigilante scripts in my list...Maybe J. D. Salinger's 'The catcher in the Rye' was the right thing you are looking for, but it was already done, my dear. So, I have to wait more for someone to pick up one of my pearls! ha-ha!

cheers

I think you have a nice writing style and I will read your scripts anyway.
Its hard to find scriptwriters who have the balls to write something like Falling Down. I have watched the movie Outlaw (2007) a few days ago and it doesn't even come close to Falling Down. It is a tough story to write I guess.

I'll wait for someone else to reply here, because I dont know where to look for scripts elsewhere.

Thx for your time

I saw that movie and I can't see why you liked it.  Michael Douglas came off as a bully and a lunatic.  I was waiting for the police to take him out.

Hi Phil,

I can see your point, but allot of people recognized themselves in this character very much. Thats why they liked it, and the violent actions were almost funny.

What do you think is a good anti-hero movie Phil?

He threatened to kill a McDonald's manager because he couldn't get breakfast after 11:00.

In regards to anti-hero movies:

'The Professional,' starring Jean Reno and Natalie Portman.

'Silence of the Lambs' starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster.

The Professional (Léon) is indeed a very good movie, but I am looking really for a sort of vigilante script not an revenge assassin movie.

I see what you mean that Falling Down has alot of stereotypes in it and its a bit over-the-top.

I just want a very sympathetic (not like Douglas character) guy. A normal family man without the psychotic history and not all that violent. Just a normal guy who'd had enough. I really hope you or someone else could help me out with this.

Phil's criticism is fair, but what he sees as being a bully i just find as dark humor.

Michael Douglas is just doing what almost everyone who lives in any major metropolis has probably secretly wanted to at one time or another.

i know i have.

A couple of questions, Dfens.

How many pages does it need to be?

When are you looking to shoot it?

And what experience do you have as a director?

Haven't seen it yet, but that Jodie Foster movie (The Brave One) looks great on that theme...

Guest of Honor in the Short section has a strong vengence them, which I'm currently rewriting...it's pretty brutal, though...
