With Halloween just around the corner, I thought I'd dig up this thread and review the movie.

In "Bubba Ho-Tep" Bruce Campbell plays an aging Elvis Presley, alive and living in a shoddy bursing home in East Texas.  His only friend is a fellow resident who thinks he's JFK, played by the late Ozzie Davis.

Days at the home are pretty dismal, with nothing to do except reflect on one's life while waiting to die.  And this is what Elvis does.  He wonders if the growth on his pecker is cancer while also wondering if he did the right thing by switching places with an Elvis impersonator some forty years ago.

Enter JFK (Davis) who tells Elvis that he discovered that a Mummy is sucking the souls out of the home's residents in order to survive.  The two decide it is their American duty to fight this Mummy and take on this incredible task.

It's not a scary movie; it's not meant to be.  It's a campy film which Campbell excelled in.  His impersonation of Elvis was very subtle, which made it more believeable.  I don't know how acturate Ozzie Davis' portrayal of JFK was, but he played the part very well.

The movie was very enjoyable and is worth renting this Halloween season to break up the monotony of all the horror films wthat will be out.
