I saw the edited version in the theater and i walked out of it. I rented the unedited version on dvd and loved it. About 20mins of it was added and it ties a lot together. More blood and cussing. It did make the movie better.

Dude, I saw this when it was out on theaters a couple months back, with my bro, his girlfriend, my girlfriend thinkin it was goin to be scary. Boy, were we wrong. The version I saw on the big screen was a total waste of my time. wE decided to watch this, because all the other movies that were out at that time sucked, like meet the fockers. No one should watch this. The only good thing about this is that Anna Paquin is in it, and she's so friggin hot.

What was the unedited version like??
BtW, can someone respond to this. Doesn't Anna, and her little brother die at the end, because anna's boyfriend(really the possesed spirit) drives them into a tunnel??
My friend said they didn't die, but I think they did.

Yeah i would assume they die. And the unedited version took the cheesey 'freaking' out and replaced it with fuck. more blood and had more scenes which explained a lot more of the movie. I enjoyed the unedited version. The extra 20mins added really did help a lot.

I don't usually say this but she is hot ha-ha

Eventhough you guys ruined the ending and now if I watched it it'd be ruined (Not that it matters, I enjoy knowing the end)

Oh, my bad Wes, I shoulda put a spoiler or a warning. Ha.
But, you shouldn't watch this, unless you have nothing else to do for 2 hours. Don't waste your money on this, unless you really wanna see Anna Paquin.

I did like this movie, but the end sucked ice cream. They eneded to wher there will be a Darkness 2, and you know one is coming. If Hollywood would have just ened that one with a soiled ending, it would have been better.

I think the ending is pretty solid. They die. I kind of liked it, it was gutsy, especially for Hollywood. It was also kind of inevitable.

The entire time watching this I kept thinking THE SHINING. Hard not to since the film just felt like a direct rip-off of that...the ending...well, it left much to be desire.  Don't get me wrong, I love cliffhangers endings but this one did nothing for me. It just didn't pay off.

That's what I kepy thinking, you know. It felt well composed and the ending did pick up, but it also dragged too. The ending picked up, and the scene with them driving into the tunnel was a nice pay off, you know. It was one of those endings you don't see anymore.
I can see how the edited version would play out, and I'm glad they released the unrated version. Perhaps, it's justt me but I think films should be seen as their ment to be seen, and cutting it down was just a cheap way to cash in.
