Bought this after my "hardcore horror" friend recommended it, lol! I thought it was so weird. Wasn't at all what I expected at all. The premise to it was interesting, but it just didn't deliver well in the end -
"Tensions rise within an asbestos cleaning crew as they work in an abandoned mental hospital with a horrific past that seems to be coming back to haunt them..." << accurate review, however it was still a let down.
Some of the death scenes stood out though, I'll give it that... the eye one in particular...ugh!
I've been wanting to see this for a while because of all the hype...but it doesn't surprise me one bit that it may not be as good as everyone says. Most things never are anyway lol.
"Are you saying I'm crazy!?" "Oh no, but I'm certainly thinking it loudly"
What I personally think that this film failed to do was simply entertain us. It was extremely slow and boring w/ hardly much going on. It had a lot of potential, story-wise, there was a great set-up and there is a few effective creepy moments, but not enough.
Check it out if you're into films like BLAIR WITCH PROJECT or other Indie films.
I'm one of the biggest Horror guys around, you'll be hard pressed to find someone bigger actually... and I kinda liked it. I thought the plot was original, it was kinda erie and had a very mood and creepy effect to it.
I don't think it's a master piece, but it was far far far from terrible. It was leaps and bounds better than Blair Witch 1 or 2 and any of the scream movies and it took the nuts off of that other camera in hand flick too.
I like me some session 9, I really did.
I loved the concept behind it and thought it had a good mixture of twisted gore effects, not nothing SAVINI flashy but just good basic stuff, ya know?
