It's menus are just as confusing as the movie itself, really. Disc 1 and 2's main menus are designed as a psych evaluation. And on Disc 2, you have to answer questions like "I have a fear of swallowing my own tongue" A - Never B - Almost Never C - Occasionally ... yada yada yada
Anyway, it's nearly impossible to find the bonus features and when you find a path to one and search for another - it's a safe bet that you'll end up at the feature you've already seen.
However, there is a feature that I enjoyed. The shooting script is on screen and you can read along with the movie while hearing it happening.
There's the Sundance channel's "Anatomy of a Scene" where Christopher Nolan and the producer and editor along with Joe Pantoliano speak about creating the first scene and its structure.
Production stills and trailers and the DVD box promises more but I've yet to find any others.
What I find amusing is that the designs of the DVD and DVD box are like a psychiatric evalutation and a file on Leonard Shelby. Yet in the actual movie, we only see one psych test and it doesn't even involve Leonard but Sammy Jankis, a person we only see in flashbacks for a few minutes.
But the movie is well worth it and I enjoyed the bonus features I saw.
Hey Impulse... just to add further from your post, technical features are as follows, taken from the BBC website:
Picture Bright, sharp and clear, you won't miss a single clue with the colour rich image on offer here.
Sound Subtle, atmospheric, and occasionally quite unsettling, this subtle 5.1 mix is concentrated around the front speakers for most of the film.
SPECIAL FEATURES
The Animated Menus Not just pretty to look at, but a feature in themselves; the main menu does alter between flicking to other features. It's unsettling and clever like the film. The Special Features menu consists of spinning Polaroids that you can click on in turn. Look carefully and you'll be able to work out where the Easter egg is.
Christopher Nolan Interview Conducted by Elvis Mitchell for the Independent Film Channel, this interview with Nolan covers the origins of the film: from his brother's short story through to what Nolan was trying to achieve. In short, he wants to mess with your mind.
Website Rather than transfer the 'otnemeM' website onto DVD ROM content, Pathe has decided to make it available through your normal DVD player. It works very well, too, as you search through clues for the answer to the puzzle it poses.
Tattoo Gallery Fancy lingering over shots of Guy Pearce's tattoos for the film? Here's the place to do it, with both illustrated and photographic results to study. Doesn't appear to be any tattoos for Bouncer the dog, though.
Shooting Script Here's the script, scribbles and all, presented for your critical eye. If you fancy, you can select the 'white rabbit' option and watch the film with a Polaroid prompt appearing so that you can access key parts of the script while watching the movie.
Easter Egg (SPOILERS) If you have the pleasure of not knowing what the Easter egg is, then find out for yourself - because if you love the film, you'll adore this extra feature. Spoiler 1: It's the entire film re-edited in chronological order; Spoiler 2: You can access this feature by clicking on the Polaroid on Guy Pearce's chest that appears momentarily through the infinite spinning Polaroids in the Special Features menu (it'll make sense when you see it).
Additional Extra Features A trailer and cast and crew biographies.
------------
I loved the fact that you can watch it in chronoligical order - I was confused watching it backwards... a great film and a very good DVD.
Region 1. Andy, thanks for the extra info. I've only been able to find the Anatomy of a Scene, one of the shooting script options, trailers and production stills.
