Let me just say this... I saw this movie on Friday Fright Night when I was about 5 years old and it scared me to death. So I was amped up when they released it on DVD a few back...

However, as with Hollywoods mindless drones and no idea having ass, this too is getting a fuggin' remake! Why!? It's absurd at best!

Anyways on with the on...

RACE WITH THE DEVIL is a thrill ride like you've never seen before. It stars Peter Fonda, one of my favorite actors, and Loretta Swit, from MASH, and this other dude who I can't place at the moment... Anyways, 2 couples decide to take a trip to Colorado in a, then, brand new RV. It's nice, baby... real nice...

Well along the way they pull off the road and down another one to a secluded stretch of land by the river. Here they set up shop for the night. While the wives are inside talking and such, the boys are outside drinking and talking about the good ol days when suddenly a fire across the river catches their eager eye.

Curious they go to see what it is and boy are they sorry they do. It's a cult of devil worshipers who off this girl in a sacrifice. Well their cover is blown and the cult see's that they've seen what they've done and from this point on the movie doesn't stop!

It is a fantastic movie that spirals and turns and has you wondering just what is gonna happen to these guys next. Just who else is apart of this cult? IS the whole state in on this thing?

What we get is a race across a lonely deserted desert road. A race against crazy cultist who want nothing more than to see these four people dead.

It has some of the best car chase scenes I've ever seen. Some of the best action segments ever put on film... the movie is intense. The last 15 minutes even more so than the 60 before it.

And the ending... WOW! The ending is in typical 70's fashion... sudden and not so happy.

RACE WITH THE DEVIL is a movie most would pass up as nothing more than an everyday low budget movie... However, this is so not the case. The movie was low budget, but it makes good on all fronts, trust me.

There is an intense rattle snake scene in here that still, to this day, makes me cringe in anticipation. The ending still, to this day, grabs me when you think everything is alright... and you here this melodic chanting outside.

Don't miss out on this wonderful movie. Even more so before Hollywood goes and tarnishes, yet another classic, with a pile of shit remake that'll have little to do with the original content.

5 out of 5: A movie that will grab you and not let go. Some of the best car chases this side of Starsky and Hutch "tv not pile of shit movie" And an ending that will please the bleak horror fan in us all.
