When word hits the street that a nearby elderly gentleman has a cache of old, rare, and very valuable mint condition comic books, rival comic book shop owners Raymond McGillicuddy (Donal Logue) and Norman Link (Michael Rapaport) both set out to be the first to buy them. But when the old man declines to sell, the former friends turn into enemies, and a friendly rivalry becomes tainted with greed and turns to murder. This dark comedy features a talented young cast a sharp script from director James Robinson.

Not at all what you were thinking? Me too but it's actually quite interesting to see how real people live, if it's anything like this they really need lives.

I think this is the best possible cast for a film like this and for once it was not a bunch of "hot" kids who attract the stupid mundane audience like most films nowadays do.

No, it's not a good film by any means but it was enjoyable to see good acting make a terrible idea a bit better. As always I will give anything a chance and with the title as it is and the price I paid was 4.99 Canadian how could you go wrong ha-ha

Michael Rapaport is one of those actors who I enjoy but in small doses, this film he outlives his welcome and when he dies it's not a shock as he is not the greatest actor but a good one in small doses.

The DVD aspect of this, it has Subtitles and previews. I mean what more can you ask for from garbage straight to DVD releases like this?

It is beyond me how this film got a 14a rating because the swearing is all over this film like an R rated film and yet they cleverly disguise strip club scenes so you don't see any tits... In fact the one scene the girl has her arms draped around her chest just to keep them from getting an R rating but if you look closely like I did you can see the entire package if you know what I mean.

I'm not sure if Canadian ratings on films are different from that of America but in America this film is an R and here it's 14a. Do they mean the same thing or are we more lenient towards T&A and cursing?

Who knows?

Movie 5.5 out of 10
DVD .5 out of 10

It was original and unique but falls short.

As the site's resident ratings expert (cough)...

Canadian ratings are generally more lenient as far as nudity, sexuality, and profanity.  However, the rating of 14A makes it a difficult one to judge, because American ratings systems suffer from having nothing between PG-13 (basically the equivalent of a Canadian PG, these days at least) and R.  Therefore, films which are not necessarily adult-oriented, but have slightly too much adult content to be PG-13, instantly make the rather large jump to an R rating (one example might be Kung Fu Hustle, which is only rated R in the states because of the the first scene).  Romy and Michele's High School Reunion and Addicted to Love (with Broderick and Ryan) are both R in the US, while they are PG in Canada.

The US is a little lighter on violence, however, resulting in many action movies being rated PG-13 in the US and 14A in Canada (Goldeneye, Simon Sez) and even in some cases PG in the States and 14A in Canada (Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark).  This is more noticeable in older films, especially before the rating of PG-13 was created in '86 postceding the MPAA screening of Temple of Doom (though Red Dawn was the first film to receive this rating), but still happens today.  The most extreme example I know of is the film Prophecy: The Monster Movie (directed by John Frankenheimer, I believe), which is PG in the States and 18A in Canada (all because of violent content).

...sorry.  Had some time to kill.
