Okay so I'm bored and mad that all of the Silent Hills have been checked out (damn them) when I run across this flick.

Subject Two

It looks like it might be worth a watch so I pay my five bucks and take it home.

Review -

The movie opens up with two men fighting it out over the possession of a gun in the middle of nowhere.  They look to be somewhere in the Rockies with all the snow & trees and such.  Anyway a gunshot rings out and one of the men has a bullet hole in his head.

And I'm hooked.

We then meet Adam who is in trouble at medical school.  Seems Adam thinks he knows more than his teachers do.  After getting the boot from his school, Adam finds an E Mail from Dr. Vick, a man who shares the same views of Adam.  Adam agrees to join Dr. Vick in his new research up in the mountains.  A quick ride up to the middle of nowhere finds Adam both nervous and hitting on the pretty girl that's driving him to meet his new boss.  Turns out that the girl has never even seen the good doctor and that the road ends about a mile downhill from where he lives so Adam has to hike his butt up through the snow to meet his fate.  But not before making a date with his driver of course.

* Spoilers *

Adam makes his way to the secluded house of Dr. Vick and they seem to get along swell...Until Dr. Vick kills him!  It seems the good doctor has a different idea of what being a good research partner means.  With Adam dead, Dr. Vick uses his new formula to slowly bring Adam back from the great dirt nap.  Adam is quick to learn that he's actually the second guinea pig for this experiment.  (Thus the Subject Two title)

As time goes on the two men start to become almost friends...But Dr. Vick kills him again.  Only to revive him!  Seems Doc Vic has some problems with the formula and Adam has some serious side effects.  One is that he is forever in pain.  So...Well, you guessed it Dr. Vick kills him.  But this time makes some "modifications" on Adam and presto!  Adam is alive again and better.  Except for not.

the movie is going along fine, Dr. Vick even shows Adam what we assume is Subject One.  He's buried in snow and we reorganize him as one of the men from the opening of the film.

It's only in the last 20 minutes of the movie that things finally get really outta hand.  A hunter stumbles across Adam and accidentally shoots him, mistaking him for a deer.  But it's cool!  By this time Adam has been killed and brought back so many times that a mere chest wound is nothing.  The hunter takes a dead (or so he thinks) Adam back to the remote cabin and presto!  Dr. Vick has no choice but to kill the pesky hunter for out of fear that his secrets will be exposed.

I won't spoil the ending (it's a nice little plot twist)

Anyway I liked it.  While it had it's slow moments rest assured that Dr. Vick would have to kill Adam again if only to "fix" something.

All in all I give this movie three out of four chewbacca heads!
