Marie Antoinette

Ever sense I saw the TV spots for this movie when it was being released in theaters, I had a weird obsession for this movie! I never got around to seeing it in theaters but the other day I blind bought it and I'm definately not disappointed!

The movies based on the life of Archduchess of Austria and Later Queen of France, 'Marie Antoinette'. The film starts with her 15 and being blindly thrown into a world of royalty, rumor and revolution and smoothly transitions to her position as Queen. I loved how Coppola blended the historical events with 80's rock music, kinda how "A Knight's Tale" did.

The whole film was visually stunning, the costumes and sets were beautiful and really well done! If your going to see this for the historical accuracy, then don't, this movie is more focused on a teenage girl who's being put in high power, not knowing what the hell she's doing. There's not much talking in this film, which worked for the movie, the movie relied more on facial expressions and a good soundtrack. Kirsten Dunst was perfect for this role and she did an excellent job as did the rest of the cast. The only thing that could of been fixed is the length, some scenes tended to drag on and were just a bit unnecessary, the movie was a lengthy 2 hours when it could've been cut down to an hour and thirty to forty minutes easily.

Overall, Marie Antoinette's not for everyone you'll either love it or hate it, but I really enjoyed it! If your looking for a lot of history on the Queen of France then your better off getting the biography.
