I don't know how many people, if any watch this show, but there is some great stuff here.  It is a tales from the crypt/twilight zone kinda show.

I have only scene a few episodes so far.  So far the best are Family which stars Norm from cheers and directed by John Landis.  This is a great episode, a brilliant satirical horror story, lots of gore, and a lot of laughs, and it was written from the writer of Frailty which was a great horror film.

Next would be cigarette burns by John Carpenter, which is the best thing he has done in well, well a long time.  It is about a famous film that causes people to go mad and a private dick who is hired to find it.  I also liked the fact that some of it took place in Vancouver considering the series is shot here.

Another good one is called The Damn thing directed by Tobe Hooper, which is about a town that goes crazy.  Other than the ending this has some very interesting characters and the grossest stuff ever on T.V

and of course the famous banned episode Imprint by Takashi Miike, now to describe this episode would probably be breaking the rules here so I won't, but my lord is it sick, so sick it is banned from cable TV, but you can download it or rent it, some great stuff there.

There are some stinkers like the V word, which is directed by Ernest Dickerson, who is a director for the L word, so I thought it would be funny, it wasn't, it was kinda dull, not like the others that I have seen.

anyways this is a great show, each episode is different with a different type of horror story.

Just finished watching the first season (and first 4 episodes on season 2). It's a great little series with some fantastic episodes (and some duds).

I'm going to watch Imprint tonight. From all the hype surrounding it, I hope it delivers.

Family and Cigarette Burns were good, but my favourites are The Fair Haired Child and Jenifer. Fantastic Episodes.

I'll agree with you, I didn't like the L Word... the weakest so far. Also wasn't a fan of Homecoming, as I thought it was way too heavy handed. Also a little bit disappointed with Dance of the Dead.

Masters of Horror is awesome. Sure, there's a couple that are subpar (I don't think Tobe Hooper's made a good horror movie since the Texas Chainsaw Massacre) but a lot of them of great and all of them seem to at least try to be original.

My favorite, by far, was Dreams In The Witch House. One of the darkest and grimmest, for sure, and, of course, gotta love Lovecraft. I think Stuart Gordon's the only one who can really adapt his work properly.

Imprint was also fantastic as well as Cigarette Burns and both of Dario Argento's films.

I hope there's a third season. I'm not exactly sure the show's been doing all that great. There was a lot less hype surrounding the second season. I've got my fingers crossed.

I meant the V Word. BUT... I have found out that the director (Ernest Dickerson) has directed various L Word episodes... hmmm....

But yeah, I'm looking forward to the next season too. When it's good, the series is GREAT and it's fun to watch real horror and not TV horror...

All you guys that have not yet seen "Incident On and Off a Mountain Road" (or something like that) be sure to move it to the top of your list.

It's throwback slasher formula, but also very well done.

It's direceted by the guy who did "Phantasm" (also, see that if you haven't) -- and the episode even has Angus Scrimm in it -- a real treat if you know who that is.  

Incident On And Off A Mountain Road was the first MOH I ever saw. After that, I was hooked. I loved the survivalist angle. It's always fun, not to mention satisfying, to watch a protagonist outsmart a baddie who's obviously bigger and stronger than they are. Angus Scrimm was hilarious as well. Some really original comic relief coming from him. I was surprised to hear it all coming from the infamous Tall Man. I kept expecting him to say "boooyyyyy!"

As for Phantasm, I'm partial to its sequel. It's a lot more cheesy and over the top (quadrupal-barrelled shotguns, homemade flamethrowers, and a chainsaw faceoff... I mean, c'mon!). There's plenty of juicy killer "ball" action as well. That thing was the highlight of the first one for me.

Good films, both.

Incident On and Off a Mountain Road is the best one I have seen so far.  This was great, I loved how the two storiers were inter cut, worked very well.  The production value for this was also great, didn't look like tv, but that of a feature film.  This was more adventure than horror, but it sure did have some horror in it.  

If you like good horror this series is great and I would highly recomend this for all horror fans, this isn't like a regular tv show, it has all the gore you would except, and want.

I can't believe Ethan Embry is old now. Wow. I still remember his goofy little turn in Empire Records, then his (semi) dramatic role in White Squall.

I always thought - "The guy is going to be a great actor." Then he just disappeared from the radar...

I can't remember which one this was called.  But it was about a trucker killer, and he picks up another killer. I thought it was pretty good.

I was told to watch an episode called "Family" staring George Wendt and directed by John Landis. I enjoyed that quite a bit, it has a very classic thriller style and mode of storytelling to it. I thought it was very good. Half the psychological thrillers released theatrically aren't as good as this one was.

I'll be checking out more episodes in the future.

I hate to say it but I don't think it's happening. If it were happening, it'd be happening next month, which means info would be scattered across the net, not to mention every major horror site online. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The most up to date info I found is from February. Not exactly reliable if you ask me.

They should do anoher season! So far I've loved every episode except picke me up. It was too tame fo rmy tastes. Sure, there was some blood and nudity but you barely got to see any actual kills and I couldn't even tell the characters from one another. The concept of two killers fighting for territory was intriguing, but ultimately failed in its excecution.

I've loved all the other episodes I've watched. My sis and I cooperated to buy the box set. So far I've seen:

Imprint (Excellent. 10/10. I has some weak plot points but it sure as hell delievers on the Horror, both on gore and pure terror. Awesome film)

Homecoming (not really a Horror and too in-your face with its morals, but I liked it)

Cigarette Burns (my fave. I loved the red-herring with the Angel. The movie could still work without it, but it only enhanced my enjoyment of the movie)

The Fair-Haired Child (cool ep. reminded me of my own stuff. It had a very creative monster in it).

Jennifer (I had nightmares about this chick! :O )

Sick Girl (Very funny and at the same time disturbing Horror-Comedy. Very entertaining and I friggin' love Angela Bettis, but, sad to say, she gave the worst performance in this particular case. The characters were all likeable as well in my view, except for the Granny)

and last but not least...Dance of the Dead (I think this one is underrated. I loved it, AND it had Robert Englun in it! I loved the bleak future it portrays. Most of the characters were Punks, but they had an excuse for it. Living in the Skeets must've sucked big time. It had a little too much blurry editing, but I just loved the concept too much to pay attention to it).

Dreams in the Witchhouse scared the crap out of me. I can't stand ugly old hags. And I don't care for witches either. (*B-dum-tisch* thank, I'll be here all night!).

That Damned Thing started out great but the ending was terribly I thought.

I've seen a couple of others and they varied in quality.

Dreams In The Witch House is my favorite Season 1 episode. It's the darkest and creepiest out of all of them (with the exception of Imprint) but not without all the gore and such. Imprint and Cigarette Burns would be runners up.

I haven't seen all of Season 2 yet but my favorite so far would be Pelts.

Both are good. Jenifer is probably the grossest and most depraved after Imprint. Deer Woman is a lot like Family. Both of them have a lot of comedy in them.

Big news on the the third season. It seams the title is no longer 'Masters of Horror', but now 'Fear Itself'.

What is Garris thinking? The network change aside, why would they change the name of the series when they've already got a fanbase for the original? People are going to think it's a whole other series. It doesn't make sense, even from a business perspective.

As for NBC, well, that just about puts the series in the toilet. The whole reason it was on Showtime was so the directors could produce original films outside the Hollywood. Network TV is even more restrictive. What the hell, Garris?

I'll still check this out. Argento and Carpenter have both directed for TV with relatively positive results so their contributions (if they do in fact return) might still be interesting. I'm not sure about the others. I don't have high hopes.

Just watched Sick Girl, this was a nasty little piece, very funny as well.  I think there are about 4 or 5 I haven't seen yet.  Great show, I like it even more than tales from the crypt.  IOAOAMR is still my fave though.

Incident on and off a mountain road.  Haeckel's tale is great, has zombie sex in it, and the girl form Sick Girl is very funny, it's a satire and supposed to be over the top and worked for the story they were trying to do

I understand the girl from Sick Girl is meant to be funny... I just found her annoying. Anyways... yeah, Incident on and off a Mountain Road is a ver good episode. However... I'd say my favorite is either Cigarette Burns or The Fair Haired Child.

I've only seen about half of the first season and a few from season 2.

My favorite is Incident On and Off a Mountain Road.  Has anybody read anything by Joe R. Lansdale, whose story Coscarelli adapted for Masters of Horror?  Not to mention what Cos did with Bubba-Ho-Tep.

Jenifer is a close second.  What a nasty piece of work. I loved it.

Pro-Life was pretty good, too.  All that violence by Ron Perlman and sons.  Whew.
