Smiley Face was a movie I was dying to see since it's very first planned release date in April ! As the release dates kept getting postponed and information on the movie got less as the days went on it finally was announced this movie was not going to make a theatrical release but a straight to dvd release in January! Becoming extremely impatient i found the movie online, and i know it's wrong but i downloaded it! The movie takes place in a day's time about a stoner, Jane, who get's herself in a series of misadventures when trying to remake some pot brownies she wasn't supposed to eat. Let me first say I love this movie, it's such a simple, fun, happy little movie that you can just watch over and over again. The movie wouldn't be nearly as good if they didn't cast Anna Faris as the lead, she's just great in this with her ditzy, dazed off looks she'll have you constantly giggling. I think that the fact she was only under the influence of pot throughout was a little unbelievable just for the fact there were moments that she hallucinated and other effects that you dont usually get from that drug. This movie's short duration time of 85 minutes was just perfect in such that it's an easy way to pass an hour, it's somewhat forgettable but in my opinion that's just that much better in that i could watch this continuously. There's a great comedic cast including Jane Lynch, Adam Brody and lots of other who's names i forget   so it's a real shame this movie's not going to get the full treatment it should, hopefully it'll become a dvd classic. You really don't have to be a stoner to enjoy this it's all around a fun and simple movie, I suggest you give it a rent when it comes on dvd this January!!
