This was probably the most original zombie movie I've seen (besides one of the few earlier zombie films such as George A. Romero's work) and I thought it was really funny and interesting on how they brought it out as a film.

Basically it's pretty much set in the time between Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, except instead of the zombies going out of control and the whole world falling apart into a zombie apocalypse, a corporation, ZomCom, had been able to control the zombies due to a collar that the undead wear. This collar is able to keep the zombies from eating people, but some times when the red light that turns on when the collar is on turns off, the zombies have the need to feed on people.

This boy, Timmy (K'Sun Ray), names his pet zombie Fido and the two begin to bond. But when Fido's collar accidentally shuts off, he attacks and kills one of Timmy's neighbors, and soon the whole town is on alert as there are uncontrolled zombies running amok.  Carrie-Anne Moss and Dylan Baker both star in this also as Helen and Bill Robinson, Timmy's parents.

I thought Carrie-Anne was great in this film, as she is the type of mom everybody would have. From seeing her, you'd think she would be one of those moms who oppose of everything and is Little Mrs. Perfect, but throughout the film, she begins to do things you normally wouldn't see in a 50s film--which I will also compliment on because it really has that old-time feel to it, with the cars, music, and the way people dress.

There were some actors who weren't really that well, but I was glad that they were taken off screen earlier than the better actors. I couldn't stand some of them because they weren't too good. And as I was watching this, I started to despise Dylan's character because he just wasn't the fun type and was always serious, though, probably because he had to kill his father when he turned into a zombie, which caused him to get the fear of the undead.

But then towards the end, there was a character who I didn't like more than the father, and it made up for the end.

Over all, this was a fun zombie flick and it was worth the $3.99 (got it on On Demand) and I think everyone will enjoy it because it's not your usual zombie movie. It's funny, creative, not too much gore, but there's still gore, and, yeah, it was just a good movie.

I recently caught this movie and I agree.  It's 100% zombie-rific!  The whole 50's theme and using zombies to do your manual labor were great. lol
