I'd never seen it and my daughter got the series from the library and we watched it bookend to bookend; pretty amazing. The men, the battles. You learn to know these men, love them, feel when they are lost. And in one sense, you get lost in it all, the war, until the end when the men of Easy Company liberate a concentration camp in "Why We Fight." So much to be said about this series and the theme of it.

I understand the same producers are developing another WWII story set in the Pacific Theater.

Amazing series. I watched it a few years back, one episode evry day for a week. But i made the mistake of watching the special features part first - they had interviews with the actual guys portrayed. so i accidentally found out who lived or died in the show!

The Pacific one is out next year. I saw a trailer for it the other day and it looks just as good.

This is a great series.  Eight episodes of solid gold.  I bought this on a promotion, and have recommended this program to friends & family.  If they're going to make a Pacific series then I'll snap that up no problem.

I remember wathcing this a few years back when it was originally broadcast.  It is a fantastic series and very moving too, listening to the men of easy speak at the start of every episode makes it all the more real.
