Now this is my kind of stuff.
I made it through four episodes of GOT and I still don´t see the fascination with it. I LOVED Mindhunter! Season 2 just came out, and I was again hooked immediately. GREAT GREAT show!
Anyone else watching? |

Didn't think it really achieved the brilliance of the first season. But still a great show regardless. |

On my list as well.
I really liked the first season, but definitely didn't love it. There were some very chilling scenes, but they never really went over the top for me.
None the less, i will watch soon. |

I think this one is even better than the first season. So far at least. All the actors that play the murderers are amazing. I thought Manson was especially spot on. |

Okay - thru two episodes of season 1. Initial reactions.
- Premise = A - Acting = uneven. The two leads are a bit wooden - almost dragnet like. Ed - the serial killer was great.
Will continue |

I loved the first season. Wife and I are currently binging the second. Just got to the Manson bit. Truly awesome stuff, very unnerving. |

I'm struggling with Season 2.
The Lesbo side plot is doing absolutely nothing, except making me wonder if I'll continue watching. |

I agree with you Jeff on the lesbian thing. I liked the character and everything and I would´ve assumed she was drawn that way, but somehow that storyline felt flat and predictable. Other than that though, I loved season 2. |

I couldn't get into season one, which is shocking because I love David Finchers' work. I just didn't like the lead character. His acting seemed... Odd. |

Quoted from Dreamscale The Lesbo side plot is doing absolutely nothing, except making me wonder if I'll continue watching. |
Seems like everything needs to have gay characters in it these days. I mean, equality is great and all, but when Jeff is finding lesbians tedious, that is telling you something.
I thought Manson was especially spot on. |
Really? I found it a bit tame. If you're playing Manson, you gotta dial that sh*t up to 11. Good show, though. Recommended. About half-way through this season and they are doing some really interesting things with the straight-arrow cop guy. Nice twist handed to him, and rounding out his character way beyond what they gave him last season. |

Loved season 1. Didn't care for season 2 and probably only got through about five episodes.
For me, the main things that made season 1 compelling were:
--Holden's ego that grows increasingly out of control. --The conflict in terms of personality, style, procedure and basically everything between Holden and his partner. --The constant tightrope walk where one false step could lead to the demise of the project and their careers.
In season 2, the partner spends most of his time alone on an entirely different case. Aside from the panic attacks, Holden is fairly subdued and normal... which is very boring. To top things off, the new FBI chief loves the whole team and gives them everything at their disposal to solve cases.
Jeff not enjoying a lesbian subplot is really all the proof needed that this season did not deliver. |

Okay - done with season 2.
This continues to be a killer premise (pun intended) for a series and does draw you in. There are flaws.
While the actors playing the killers are generally brilliant - the lead, Holden, is wooden, cardboard cut-out. I don't now how he passed the audition. There is no depth to his acting. Think how different the role might be if someone like Giovanni Ribisi (Sneeky Peter) played him.
The series sagged every time they went into a personal life segment (e.g., the troubled child and marriage strain of Tench, Holden's love life, the Lesbian Professor searching for love, etc - Not because these shouldn't be story elements - they should. They were just not done well. Odd choices - like feeding tuna to the cat - it came and when went without no meaning. They also stayed in those moments far too long. They should have decided that this is not a series about the personal lives of the folks of the FBI's/BSU - this is a story about the FBI BSU with people. Going to be multi-season - give me one personal break down per season - don't give me everyone having personal tragedy at the same time.
The new FBI Director - could not stop thinking about Doctor Evil. Kept waiting to hear that I have gotten you a grant for ........... one million dollars. |

Remember that this series is based on a book that was based on real events and people. I read the book loooong time ago and I think the character Holden plays was kind of like that in the book too. |

Okay - but I don't mind the character - I don't like the acting. |
