I saw bert didn't care for poetry.   Here's a couple he may like.

NIGHT OF NASFERATU

by me

Can you feel him?
He's coming...

A hollow light burns from within;
be still this night of slumberless sleep.
Hunger burning... lusting... reaping...
the season of his demise.
Dark wings of the night do fly.

Misted wings of dewdrops dread -
Seek shelter...
close the curtains - hide.
Tonight flight of the undead
searches shadows for innocent life.
Dark wings of the night take flight.

Over hills - throught dirge of the dale;
the wind carries a requiem of sorrow.
All pay heed to the twilight tale...
Pray for the blessed light of tomorrow...

Hypnotized - eyes from Hell.
Fangs pierce
Try - though you cannot scream.
Wake this night from torments spell!
Wander thoughts to peaceful dreams.

Dark wings of the night do fly.

THE HAUNTED

by me

Shadows sway betwixt silvery veils
stretching vapors of opaque light.
Still oak trees tell no tales.
Secrets are hushed by night.

Marshy green of nethermost glade
Spirits maundering cries...
Echos reach out to darkness... fade.
Footprints settle from sight.

Fathom you must - seclusion's endeavor.
Serpents guard - curiousity laid.
Be prepared to stay forever
when entering nethermost glade.

Hear the howl of the banshee's wail.
Shivering leaves of green forced aside
giving way to spirit's sail
when summoning forces ride.

SANITARIUM

by me

Time is absorbed through the shadows
of another night's sleepless sleep,
As her demon's calculate new ways of torture,
lying on her bed of thorns - she weeps.

Her mind is twisted and shackled.
The souls of the damned laugh in her face.
Their voices call out to taunt her -
"There's no God or Holy place."

The first light of day is dawning.
Her darkened eyes stare through the sanitarium wall.
Days... months... years have passed
yet no mortal pays her a call.

She sees a woman dancing in a field of daisies.
Arms bound to her belly - she begins to sway.
Then the Devil himself, swallows her whole,
and belches out his words of distaste,
"There's no God or Holy place."

These are very well written. I especially like "NIGHT OF NASFERATU." It's interesting without being obscure. Its subject matter is obvious, a vampire. You have a talent for stringing words together, allowing the reader something to luxuriate in. Beautiful.

Thanks Seth. Glad you liked it.

They are sort of an

HOMAGE

My feet dangle off the edge of the dock.
My mind sets sail to his dreams.
With a slight spin, I skim a rock.
The raven beside me folds his wings.

Though limerick and voices abound
the depth of his words - no greater height is found.
Known well in large cities, as in small towns...
This masterful man of rhyme.

His Bells hearken early melodies of lore.
On death's wings, Godspeed him to his Lenore;
hence the Raven be hushed of "Nevermore".
True peace he'll come to find...

The ripple expands in the water...
and I see my bird is not a raven, but a crow.
Above my reflection, I see perfection...
The smiling Raven with Edgar Allan Poe.

Those are wonderfully written poems, Cindy!! "SANITARIUM" is my favourite!! I really loved them all, very well done. I wish I could string sentences together like that!

Miss Andy!

So nice to hear from you.
Glad you liked the poem.

There hasn't been time for writing anything new lately, so I posted some old stuff... Sometimes I feel like like that little silver ball inside a pinball machine.

It's nice to hear from you though. I hope you've been able to do some writing.

Cindy
