Arsenic, Bedsheets, and Latex: Episode 1x01 "Pilot" by Andrew Lavers - Series - The Empress Landmark Hotel. Hospitality for the rich and the famous, and a job for those who aren't. The hotel is never boring: Stephen and Victoria are beginning a workplace affair, there's been a murder, and what about that hard-ass boss? 16 pages - pdf, format
I've gotten annoyed at several writers for making mistakes in their format, but compared to this their scripts were fine. You don't use sluglines, you use incorrect margins throughout the script (the result being that a 17 page script, already too short to be a real series, would in reality be much shorter than 17 minutes when made), you include action in parentheticals after dialogue, you capitalise all nouns, and as far as I can see you have no plot - your killer has an idiotic motive and yet is the obvious killer right from the teaser. This, plus the fact that about half the scenes seem to end in "they begin making love", makes me start to wonder if this script is more than a joke.
Since Jerdol failed to tell you this, let me-the right way to learn how to format a script is to read other screenplays and then look on the main site for the correct margin numbers and whatnot.
Rapture is completely correct; I forgot to explain how to learn the correct format. My suggestion is, instead of just reading scripts, to learn from a source that teaches the format. His way is like learning French by reading French novels. The website that taught me (I found it through Google) is: http://scriptwritingsecrets.com/contents.htm
This is the author of the script. Thanks for your feedback, negative or not. I'm sorry that the formatting was so off. I had it correct at the beginning (or more-so correct), but when I made the new draft I failed to do it once again, which is terrible on my part.
As for the plotlines, it wasn't the best. Something I need to work on in the script. The plot worked a lot better when I wrote it in story format, than script format. (Maybe I should stick to that )
I've applied to remove the script (yes, already), and I won't post it again until the formatting is correct.
