Why Me? by Steven Dilworth - Short, Drama - When the spirit of a processed turkey follows his Earthly remains in an attempt to find meaning in his death, he realizes that some questions are better left unanswered. 11 pages - pdf format
If you couldn't tell by the logline, this is a reworking for clarity of my Thanksgiving OWC script. I think it's easier to understand, and I'll admit right up front I did some directing in the script. I saw it in my head, and I wrote it on the page. I added one scene near the end I wanted to do in the original, but couldn't figure out how. I think it works.
Okay, last time I post this with yet another new version. I have removed ALL direction. There is absolutely none! The term POV isn't even used. Totally up to the director which way they go. So please, I implore anyone willing to sit through it one more time to tell me if you think it works now. Oddly enough, even though I feel my vision is ripped out of it, I think it does work.
It works... and could possibly make a kid's cartoon. However, the part where the story of Thanksgiving is told should be done visually. But, I wouldn't bother with that unless you have somebody interested in producing it. The budget will be quite high and I can't really think of a market for this. It's not student material. It's a specialist script that will find it hard to find a home. Never say never, but I'd move on to something else rather than rewriting this to death.

Good luck.
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. All good thoughts. I've moved on already to The Quandary of Harry Barstock, which is even less of student film project. But I like it.
