Hello again...

Anyone else like this band?  I'm a huge fan (as you can probably tell by now...).  Based out of Chicago, they've released 4 albums (Goddammit!, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, From Here to Infirmary & Good Mourning).  They specialize in a kind of cross between heavy emo-ish sounds and Horror (or depression) based lyrics.

The tunes are at once catchy and deep.  Lyrically, they might be second only to Blake Schwartzenbach of the mighty JAWBREAKER (The Trio owes Jawbreaker a huge debt, if only as an obvious influence).  It took only one listen to From Here To Infirmary to be hooked for life.

Visually, they look like three college punks from Chicago...until one looks closer.  There is a great deal of anger and pain hidden behind mournfully heavy hook and the twin vocal attack of Matt Skiba and Dan Adriano.  The hooks are crisp and the enraged sarcasm drips from each line.

If you're a fan of Jawbreaker, Jawbox, Elvis Costello or The Misfits, check them out.

Actually, they have two vocalists of very different styles.  Matt kinda growls punkishly and Dan has a deep, sonorous voice (reminds me of Elvis Costello meets Colin Hay).

To each their own.

I hadn't heard them until about a year and a half ago, I was really impressed. I'd figured it was just one of those bands that its a trend to like. But they have some catchy shit.
