I've been trying to watch or buy one of these movies for a long time now and finally found one, sure the movies a little out of date but this is not a new release reviews page so here goes

The story:

Determined to close the gates of hell once and for all, a 22nd-century scientist, whose ancestor originally freed the demonic Pinhead centuries before, tries to reverse the Lament Configuration. Spanning several generations, this final entry in Clive Barker's horror franchise acts as both prequel and sequel to the other installments.

I just got done watching it; this is a pretty good movie and has actually good special effects, a real gritty feel that makes me want to see the first 3. It's probably not for everyone but how can you not just love pinhead

Hellraiser Bloodline is the weakest of the series. Although it is the best suited for a younger audience it misses the mark without using the gritty uncomfortable feeling.

The effects are done fairly minus some cheesy moments. The acting is alittle low but it is a B-grader so it is ok to laugh at it.

The best give away as to wether this movie is any good is to just read the directors name out loud: 'Alan Smithee'

for those who know what that means its an indication to steer clear.

Hmm I still haven't had a chance to see the others because they just cost too much for older films.

After watching this again it is a little weaker than when I first wrote this, a good bad guy with a lot of potential but they just don't seem to use him. I hope they used him more in the first films because it's ridiculous to make a film with such great make-up on the bad guy and never use him.

They really lost the plot with these movies after the third one in my opinion. Hellraiser 1 and 2 are well worth checking out, I wouldnt say the same about any of the next five films , Pinhead appears in only a few moments in all the sequals apart from the first three.
