This is the Special Edition, just came out this year I believe.

Directed by Terry Gilliam who some may know from Monty Python.

Penal colony prisoner James Cole must travel back in time from the year 2035 to find the cause of a virus that killed five billion people in 1997.

Anyway I think this is one of those rare movies that took a chance and would either be terrible or great, I think it falls somewhere in-between. They made Bruce and Brad Pitt a little over the top and kind of pulled it off.

I thought Brad Pitt's performance was great, Bruce's was average, he kind of weighed down the film maybe but it's because of how Bruce is perceived to a mainstream audience that it seems a little weird nowadays.

This is one of those films I've been trying to see or buy for awhile because I had only seen parts on television before yesterday when I finally purchased the DVD.

DVD Features:

It has a feature commentary with Terry Gilliam and the producer.

But the meat of this package is the fact it comes with a feature length documentary about the film process, this is a good look at a directors struggles through a film. It really shows that the director takes a beating and even thinks about quitting...

That's about it but the documentary is probably the reason it was re-released.

7 Out of 10 for the film.
8.5 For the DVD features

At the end of the day if you like Willis or just Sci Fi in general you may enjoy this if you haven't already seen it since it was made in the mid 90's.
