The brains behind the Austin Powers movie franchise are racing to shoot a fourth film to coincide with the 2006 release of the new James Bond movie Casino Royale. The planned new project would focus on the young Powers and only regular Seth Green would possibly return for the film - to play the younger version of his movie dad Dr. Evil. Producers are keen to work quickly on the film so it will be ready for release on the back of the new 007 movie because Austin Powers is a spoof version of James Bond. Austin Powers regular Michael York, who will not be part of the new film, tells website Darkhorizons.com, "I have heard that they want to do a new film to coincide with the release of the next James Bond movie. Since 007 is going to be younger in that movie, they're considering doing a Young Austin movie. I don't know if Mike Myers would even be involved. It would probably be Seth Green playing Dr. Evil Junior."

Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever. I WAS WRONG.
Alright, if you gotta rush it with only a fraction of the original cast, it's gonna stink. As much as I like Seth Green, this movie will stink. I figured another Austin Powers film would come out, but why a prequel? Dag nam it.
A lot of comedians' best material comes from improvisation -- just look at the Jiminy Glick movie for example. So I think that a rushed comedy can be a good thing. Canadian broadcast network GLOBAL recently cancelled a brilliant show called TRAIN 48; it was light on script and heavy on improv, and the episodes were filmed on the same day as they aired, yet they were top-notch drama, and a lot of the episodes were amazing comedies, so my point is that filming a project quickly can result in quality material; it's just a matter of dedication to character, and willingness to take risks. And I think the Powers' team can pull it off.
But Train 48 is far far away from Hollywood, they rush everything and even when they don't it's still bad.
It took Bruce Campbell 18 years and his friend around 15 years to get there films made and yet this Uwe Boll guy who nobody likes makes 3 films a year that nobody likes.
I don't think the industry is open to something new, they want the same old garbage (Ie Superheros, Horror and bad remakes) all with the same reused plots and played out Hollywood actresses who can't act.
if it doesnt have mike myers in it, then to me it is not an austin powers movie. I will go see it as a completely different thing. If I go in expecting an Austin powers movie, i know I will hate it.
This just screams terrible idea... much like the 3rd movie did. I don't find Mike Myers funny, I simply just don't. I don't see why they don't throw another Waynes World at us while we're at it... hell, with Hip Hop being so "trendy" now, I'm sure all the hip hop gangstars would crank the jokes out of the park at them two water headed goblins...
Who said Train 48 was bad? I said Hollywood rushes and makes everything bad. I honestly have no clue what Train 48 is beyond the commercials they run of people talking on a Train and reading the paper ha-ha
I think the world is tired of Austin Powers, we need a Dr. Evil film ha-ha Mike Myers as Dr. Evil against evil forces since they made him a good guy in Goldmember.
Heh, I just realized a prequel would make more sense in the Powers series since Dr. Evil is now good. Of course, knowing Hollywood, if a 4th film took place after Goldmember, it would just have Dr. Evil turn bad again, you know, just to make a cheap plot and earn a few bucks.

You made a grammatical error in an earlier post, which communicated a negative opinion of Train 48, after I mentioned that show because many of its episodes are prime examples that comedy can be great when rushed. I said that to help my point that a rushed AUSTIN POWERS might be good. On a side-note, I wish they hadn't have cancelled Train 48 last season, because I'm suffering serious withdrawl. Let that be a lesson to you -- If no one else is watching it, but you're loving every second of it, you'll suffer withdrawl, because it'll be cancelled.

I agree with alan that goldmember was really funny.
