The Prometheus Effect by Stephen Arthur - Sci Fi, Treatment - This movie treatment from 1983 developed the themes to be later addressed by both Contact and Jurassic Park.  An original forerunner to those two story ideas that takes them much, much further.  8 pages - pdf, format

{note: this is a treatment not a script.  On very rare occasions, I post a treatment.  This is one of those rare occasions. - Don}

Well, the similarities are indeed striking.  A good example of a treatment nevertheless, for those who might be curious.

Is the author around, and what are his motivations for posting this?

Is he looking for ideas to distance himself from these other works -- as this is unproducible in its current form in light of the works he has cited.

Or is this just a big "I told ya so" -- some sort of warning about what can happen to ones ideas?  Is there some larger story surrounding the history of this treatment?

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

This just kinda seems all over the place. Is the author saying he was "swiped" from or just showing some examples of parellel writing or what? I could see how this could happen. I know sometimes I'll read an article or see something on History and Discovery channel and an idea will come into mind. It's feasible that I ain't the only one.
