Is anyone here still with me in the finals?

They give the titles of the scripts, but not the names of the writers.

Well,

I figured that since I was in the finals, and the finals had 25 scripts, that I would end up in 25th place...
but I woke up to better news...

I ended up being the 6th place winner.

The top 5 get money prizes, but the top 25, myself included, were interviewed and our picture and interview will be on their website. They also asked for an electronic copy of the script. Hopefully they will be able to get it produced for me.

I think I'll have a good day now...

and I will be entering their next contest.

Congrats, Cindy! That's great, considering the number of entries they get for these contests it's quite an accomplishment to come in at #6...

Thanks everyone. I'm still spinning.   They said there was over 1200 entries.

The script?

Well, since Damned Yankee did well in other contests, I cleaned it up a little bit, then sent it in to them.

I've asked Don to take it down, too, since they like to promote the winners themselves.

Anyone who wants to enter a contest should enter this one. It's pretty exciting the way they keep you informed every couple of weeks with e-mails. Quarter-finalist, semi-finalist, finalist, then the winners.

I'm entering this one again. They have just started another contest up.

I checked out their website this morning...

Yes, I entered this contest again. Here's why...

Check out http://www.filmmakers.com/contests/short/2007/win/interview/

There I am (photo) in 6th place.

They also posted my logline, synopsis, and the first 8 pages of my script on their website.

Pretty darned good promoting if I do say so myself.

The interview is kind of kooky though. I should have taken more time with it.

If anyone wants to enter one of their shorts into a contest, this is a very good contest to enter.
Not just because I placed, but because they are on time with their news, and they promote the script after the contest is over.
