From reading the title...checking out the cover art, UNRATED tag and DIMENSION "EXTREME" label...I expected a no holds barred full force gory action horror flick that I would forget about soon afterward.

What I got was a film heavily derived from Blair witch Project, shot on digital film (with two cameras) and following four 20-something into the Jungles of New Guinea to investigate the disappearance of Michael Rockefeller (the film takes place in now; that 46 or so years!) who is rumored to have been spotted among the cannabilistic natives.

Not a thing happens until about the last 10-15 minutes. Everything before that is equivalent to a MTV reality show with the two couples constantly bickering with each other.

I must admit though...I felt as if I were watching real people and not actors. A lot of it felt real and it only made the last scenes more effective. The characters got quite annoying though and I just wanted them to all shut up. The makeup effects are top notch and realistic. A bit disturbing. The movie Is like a mix of Blair Witch Project and the Cannibal movies from the 70's.
If you can get through the first 70 minutes without shutting it off....I think the ending scenes are worth renting it.

So I got this movie yesterday and I just finished it this morning and I have to say it was actually quite eerie. The fact that it was all shot on camera was the reason why it seemed real, along with their reactions towards the end when they start finding out what is really going on.

I did not like Mikey and Bijou towards the middle of the film when they started just getting drunk and arguing with everyone else, and it really made me mad when they ran off with the camera and everything else. But I actually started to find it funny how they continued to argue with each other because...well...it was stupid. Ha ha the whole guerrilla acts with Mikey and Bijou and then Mandi and Colby decided to act like Mikey and Bijou to get back at them. I actually found that funny.

But I didn't like how they got into arguments so easily. I guess I wouldn't know unless something like that really happened to me. Which I hope something like this doesn't happen to me. Ever.

The ending was quite entertaining. You think they get accepted into their tribe, but you're wrong. The make-up effects were great, and when they found Bijou, I thought it actually looked real, so I have to give props to that stuff. The acting was great in most places and it made it feel like I was actually watching some tapes I found in the jungle, but in other parts, it was okay.

A very Blair Witchy type of film, so if you liked that movie, or like things similar to it, you're going to enjoy this movie. It starts out really slow, but it starts to build up in the end.

I've wanted to see this since I saw the trailer, but I can't find it anywhere. I've heard that Dimension Extreme is exclusive to Blockbuster. Is that true?

I couldn't find the trailer anywhere so I sort of took a risk buying this since I didn't know what to expect. And I'm glad I spent the $19.99 because it was really good. I got the movie at Best Buy so I'm sure you can buy it there, and I'm pretty sure that Blockbuster has it, too.
