Yep, that's right, there is a movie out there that is actually titled Shrooms! And surprsingly, it was good, but possibly the weirdest movie of my life.

So, basically it's about these five college students who go to England or Ireland or whatever to visit a friend who this girl has a crush on, and they camp out and do shrooms and have the 'trip' of a lifetime. But one girl takes the wrong mushroom, and soon, everyone begins to freak out and they can't decipher what's real and what isn't, and they begin to get killed off one by one.

It's an interesting premise with interesting characters. You have the stoner with long hair and beanie, the average girl who's quiet and you know she'll live, the jock who's a douche to everyone (an apparently takes steroids), the preppy girl who brings nice clothes on a camping trip, the weird hippie girl who doesn't shave her underarms, and the guy who says everything is okay when everyone knows it's not. So it was interesting to watch them all interact with each other and I liked it. It made it comical.

The acting was actually done pretty well...except for the preppy girl. Her freak-out scenes weren't that well...she sort of just shrugged them off (except for when she saw a dead body, but even then, it still wasn't quiet believable).

Now, what was extremely weird about this movie was how they portrayed scenes for when someone was "tripping." They'd usually make everything blurry and distorted, and there'd be weird-ass crap everywhere and it was just hard to comprehend and intense, and some might even say that you feel as though you're tripping the entire film, which, in some parts, I sort of did. I actually got a bit creeped out by some parts in this film, especially the first death because I didn't know what to expect. But as the movie progressed and people died, I didn't get more scared, but I started to get bored because things just kept on getting repetitive and non-scary. I began to get disappointed. But it was still trippy.

So, apparently Shrooms came out into theaters, but I don't remember seeing it anywhere because I got this on On Demand and it said that it came out the same time it did in theaters. But it seemed more to me like an independent film that was actually well-made, unlike crap-fest indy movies out there like Lake Placid 2 or Night of the Living Dead 3-D. But whatever, it's a fun movie and I think you'd enjoy it with your friends, whether you're high or tripping, or you're not. If you want to make your evening more interesting, you should watch this.

I saw this films in the cinemas a couple of months ago and have many different views on it. Yeah, it was not the worst horror flick I've seen, but I don't think it did anything new that we haven't already seen in horrors before. Not to mention SPOILERS BEWARE....!The ending. That is probably the most over used ending I have ever seen in my life and for this so called twist being used where the main character ends up being the killer, I just had to laugh. I mean it has been used in so many movies.

However it was not the worst horror film I've seen, just not anywhere near the best.
