I saw the trailer for "Hell Boy II: The Golden Army" at "The Dark knight"  last night and it looks good.

I saw this the week it came out and wouldn't recommend it. Like Del Toro's last film, Pan's Labyrinth, I felt this one had some great visual effects but was lacking in the story department.

And no one from the states has posted a review yet. That's not a good sign. What has the general reaction to it been like?

Generally good. Ebert gave it three and a half stars. It's got 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.8/10 on IMDb. Taken about 70 mil at the domestic B.O.

I know a couple of people that have seen it and said they enjoyed it, so I will probably check it out at some point.  I hardly ever go the theater see things anymore, so I'm usually about a handful of months behind everybody.

On the plus side, I rent so many movies that I can usually recommend those "hidden gems" that not many people have seen due to limited release.

I just realized that most of my post has absolutely nothing to do with the thread.

Hellboy 2 = Safe to pursue  (Damn, that sounds like a bumper sticker.)

I thought it was worlds better than the first one. it is a film about a Hell... boy.

The one thing I was not happy with is that the villain looks a bit like that one creature in Pan's Labyrinth.

Huh? Are you referring to the Prince, Wes? If anything, the Angel of Death did look like The Pale Man from Pan's Labrynth. But the Angel of Death was not the Villian in Hellboy II.
