There was a heated discussion a few days ago about the ammount of scripts posted by non regulars and how best to indicate that some writers don't visit the site.

The ressurection of the 'Simply recommended scripts' was mentioned and I and few others have since posted our suggestions but I wonder why this thread and the 'scripts I have written' one are tucked away in the 'getting to know you' thread.  I thought it would be a good idea if these two threads, at least the recommended one were more prominent.

Any thoughts on this?

More prominent how? Where should the thread go, if not in 'Getting to know you'? Should it have its own sub-board?

Yeah I just thought they should be easier to find.  I've been a member here for a few years now and to be honest wasn't even aware there was a recommended thread for the first year lol.  Maybe just at the bottom of the board?  After all, it's suppose to suggest the best scripts the boards have to offer, or at least our opinions of what are the best anyway.  Newbies could be encouraged to maybe check some of them out for pointers and the like.

Lots of good threads get tucked away because of the amount of boards.

Recommended scripts will become pointless if it is overloaded with posts.

We could move it someplace else but the problem is nobody looks at them to begin with because it isn't posted in every day which is how that should be.

I've read over my above sentence and think it might come across as me taking the piss...I'm not.

I don't see how it could be anymore out there for people to see unless it had it's how board called recommended scripts and those scripts go in that board. (This thread gets it out there too)

Honestly I forgot about it myself and went back to view what I recommended back in 06 and I'd cut down my list to about two scripts that I'd recommend to you or anyone.

I have read a lot of stuff that could be considered "good" but only two things really stick with me today.

I wasn't even aware that there was a recommended script thread on here until the other day.

It does seem rather hidden away, but now I know it's there I'm gonna check it out regularly.
