Hey Ghostie,

Cheers for posting this!

The two sit-com pilots I've written have been for the British market, so I guess it's time to go back and Americanize one of them

Or, I suppose I could even throw together a little American sit-com in the 3 or so weeks before the deadline.

But regardless, the prizes, plus the fact that it is free entry is too good of an offer to pass up.

Toby.

Toby,

Unless you're a Yank living in the UK, you'll have to sit this one out.  It's only open to residents of the 50 States and D.C.

Thanks, Ghostie!

It's very hard to write a pilot though. I tried and then had to fit it into that thing from industry insider:

https://www.writersstore.com/tv-pilot-kit/

Wanted to apply into their comp. I understood that my pilot is no good, that characters are very weak and not finalize and that there are problems with the structure.

But the kit helped. It's free by the way.

Disclaimer; I've never read your script... but - when writing a pilot for a TV show/SITCOM... the plot takes a backseat in this episode... more time needs to be spent on establishing your characters (good characters).  So, I'm thinking this may have contributed to their weakness.  Just a thought.

But I'm glad to see the kit helped.

@everyone else,

I hope you'll enter.  Nothing to loose.  Me, I'll pass.  Comedy is very hard to write and I'm not good at it.  But good luck to everyone who does.

Ah, nuts! Yeah, spotted that earlier. Was really bummed, as I'd already started brainstorming some ideas haha.

If only they wanted a dramatic TV pilot....  I've been working on the third episode of a dramatic television series.

I'm not good at writing comedy..but what's happened in my life in the past year is comedic enough...so I just jotted it down...was ready to submit today but the crazy date was changed. Must be a sign! lol I was just 'into' a free contest.

Cheers til next month!
