This story was originally submitted in round 2 of the 2020 Writer's Tournament under the title Racing. The parameters were that the script be sci-fi and include a cream soda, pilot, go-kart track, and theme of "winning at any costs."

The current script is now slightly over the page limit for the original competition, but otherwise meets the requirements. The new title is also hopefully clearer.

Feature-length scripts:
Who Wants to Be a Princess? (Family)
Glass House (Horror anthology)

TV pilots:
"Kord" (Fantasy)
"Mal Suerte" (Superhero)

Additional scripts are listed here.

Whilst well written. I found no real story here. Other that an anthropologist into Go-Karting and soda-beer.

Thanks for the reads and feedback.

I might need to make this clearer. She's in some over-competitive rush to get some study done before a rival does, then when she's detoured her competitiveness leads her to miss her ride and lose out to that rival.

Meanwhile, she has a certain smugness about the people unwilling to simply stay home for months when she didn't have the patience to sit for two hours.

BTW, there's no reason an outdoor go-kart track couldn't be open in most parts of the world right now, but the indoor one shown in the script is being irresponsible. Based on the crowds I've seen at beaches and eating places, this hypothetical go-kart place would have no trouble finding customers.
