Now, I know what everyone is going to think. Because once I completed this script and browsed through all of the old scripts I came across RED PHOENIX & THE 7 KEYS TO ATLANTIS.
Now, if you look at that script and my script some stuff is the same. In fact, it looks like I have completely stolen alot of stuff and used it in my own script. I can assure you this wasn't the case. I started writing this screenplay with the thought of actually producing the film. The name PHOENIX JENKINS was a name that hit me because I recently watched Stand By Me and River Phoenix was in it. I love the name Phoenix so I decided to use that. Jenkins comes from the second name of a guy that used to create films in the 50's or something.
Anyway...I can assure readers that it is purely coincidental if the characters/story is alike. I think he has done in one script that I wanted to do across many. I was going to make the PHOENIX JENKINS a series of short scripts were we see Phoneix go on many adventures. Indiana Jones like. The fact that both scripts have an Egyptian/Atlantis theme again is a coincidence. I would never steal nor copy somebodys work on purpose and I hope that you read this script with an open mind that it was written unbeknown to me that another very similar script existed.
Apart from that I hope you read this script and let me know what you think of Phoenix. I have ideas that could stretch across many many scripts and then if they are all good I could even put them together to form a completed 120 page screenplay at the end. It all depends on hat you think of this one though.
