9 pages in and I'm going to struggle to fit this into 12. Damn it. I think I've got a really great idea, I just don't know if I can pull off the execution.

This is going to be a case of getting the first draft finished today, then a quick polish tonight and just hope for the best.

13 hours and I'm done with mine. I was done yesterday (yeah, in your face!), but read it today and it was terrible. So I redid couple of places. I'm planning to go through it again later so you people don't whine too much when reading mine.

Cam was right - writing can be therapeutical! It did help me to calm down after the concert.

I got way too schlammied to finish last night, so today is the day.  It's all worked out and written in my head, so shouldn't be an issue.

As for the blood and semen?  I don't know if there's actually going to be any of either....or is there?

BWOOOHAHA!!!!!

Thanks, Reef.

Oh, the logline... I have to do the logline. I actually thought of two somethings that's supposed to be loglines but then quickly forgot about them.

I may submit without a logline, right?

I do come up with something each time for an OWC, but I'm not sure I want Carson to read mine.

Khamanna, do a logline. I know a couple ways you could go with it. Also, I'm not sure which of your titles I'd prefer, although I'm leaning more towards the original one on the draft I read.

Well done Khamanna! Hope all went well with the piano recital.

Definitely do a logline, it can't be any worse than the one I submitted and if there's any criticism it'll be helpful criticism!

Definitely do a logline. 1/3 of your total score will come from it. If you don't have one at all, you get 0 on it. If you enter a crappy one, the worst you can get is 1. Also, again, Carson and the pro writer will not get your names. This is totally unbiased.

I can't speak for Carson, but I suspect he's not looking for the best constructed logline...he's looking for the concept that is most interesting. Being able to construct a log effectively helps sell the concept, but it's all about the concept. It's not logline school...it's trying to come up with compelling concepts.

I think we should have an informal competition of who's logline was worse than the script, by the biggest margin.

As three times failed competitor on the movie poet title and logline competition, I could be in the mix on this one. Of course that depends on the script not being panned as well....humm

Khamanna, best of luck and great job on your daughter's concert.  I remember watching her recital years ago.  Glad she stayed with it.  Young kids today have a short attention span and when things get hard, some quit.

Jeff, I can't wait to read yours and everyone else who entered.  I think I have a decent log line and I only had to cut 5 lines to fit it in 12 pages.  Mark, I feel for you.  To have a decent idea only to have the page limit monster make an appearance really sucks.

I don't think anyone will figure out which one is mine.  I tried to come up with a pretty original concept for this challenge.  I don't think I have seen this really explored much if at all.

Good luck everyone!!
Dan

Please read my scripts:

Submitted. I'm confident with my title and the actual script. The logline however, I'm a bit iffy on.

I'm so excited to see everyone's work.

I just punched my ticket as well and it's on it's way. I'm always confident until they're posted. Then it's a whole different story.

Very curious to see the number of participants. This forum has been smokin' hot all week! Good luck to everyone!

Think I'm done. Only so much reading over one can do. Drives me mental.
Honestly though, it's been so long since I've properly written something, I'm just happy to have completed something again.

So, tear me a new one, guys!
