I've uploaded a preview from my short film A Tale From the Gun Barrel. The full film goes for about 12 minutes wich delves more into the story and characters. It was made with a two man crew for about $2000. Obviously everyone involved donated there time for free, otherwise it would have cost a lot more.
Tonka- the glorious widescreen is actually fake. haha I shot it on a Sony Z1 and just cropped it using black bars in post production. It works well enough, as long as you put tape over your LCD screen when your shooting so you know what your final image will look like. I use the same method for most of the stuff I shoot and it looks great.
THE LONG ROAD NORTH A bestselling author makes a chilling discovery as he searches for inspiration.
I think it looks really good. Looks clean. Crisp. Great job there. Good acting. Especially the main guy. Good lead.
To me, it was reminiscent of “Kill Bill” and the first scene from “Desperado.” Sometimes I think there was a little too much dialogue. Some dialogue was a little iffy. Do baddies really call joints “seedy”? None of it held up the action, though. It moved along well.
The villains, the Zinetti brothers, were waaaay too similar to the gang from “A Clockwork Orange.” (One even has a cane!)
Overall though, you did a great job. Looks good. Some great shots. Great job. Assuming the music is original, it’s really good too. Also, the “widescreen” looks great too -- haha.
