I have a memory of script/movie "roleplay" website that I can find no evidence of; I need confirmation that I didn't dream it up.

I remember being on the website when I was in high school, so this would have been 10-15 years ago. The concept was that it was a roleplay of Hollywood (the name of the site may have been "The Hollywood Game"), in which you earned fake currency for "producing" movies and for pretending to do all the different things involved in production and the movies - 'marketing', writing reviews. It was mostly forum-based, but essentially the 'movies' produced were just scripts with a badly photoshopped poster and a fantasy cast and director list. You had to pay pre-determined amount of currency to cast different actors etc.

I distinctly recall writing a number of terrible 'scripts' (all around 40-50 pages because I was incapable of writing a feature length script) to be produced as 'movies' on this site. It even let you buy a fake house with your earnings.

It was a stupid waste of time, but I am so curious if anyone else remembers this and if it's still running (it was very web 1.0 in it's style so I doubt it)

I searched and searched, but the closest thing I came up with was a 'roleplaying' website for 'writers' that are 18+ years old.  Pretty sure it was not that...

No clue. But, it's nice to see that your insane creative streak also extends to your dreams.

It happened because you observed it, as soon as you stopped looking, it disappeared and in fact never existed in the first place.

There’s quite a few links online that point to a role-play game called ‘Hollywood Story Game’. Not sure it’s the same as what you remember, but it kind of, sort of, maybe looks like what you’re referring to?
