Ooh, there's an idea.

I'm up for it!

C'mon guys and girls, where's the enthusiasm!
You never know, this one could put you on the map.
...Or at least break your Writer's block.

Paint me intrigued.

I can't say yes to something I don't know because the last time I did that, I woke up in a ditch and my friend Daniel was missing.

But consider me on board.

Though I should point out that a quickie means something else in the UK (maybe elsewhere too)

I'm pretty sure I worded the thread that way precisely for that reason.

Still rather low interest in this.

Hmm, maybe Pia knows more about this than me?
There is a PM 'send all' but members would need to sign into their account to see it.
Good idea though, Ant. We should run it by Don if he's free.

I think only Don can do that. He usually mentions the OWCs on FB though. We could just wait until July too. That way we would be back on the old regular schedule of Jan, Apr, Jul, and Oct. It's only like a week away anyway.

Or, if we can drum up definite numbers for this, say ten, we could still do it!
Up to you guys and girls to express your enthusiasm.

This is what I think, anyway.
Without the numbers and involvement it's not as much fun imho.

My assumption is that it's like a One Week Challenge.  We're given a topic and we have one week to write a short script based on the topic.

A 'quickie challenge' like the title suggests would be a fast challenge.
You would likely get anywhere from 24hrs to a few days, but not a week.

P.S. Pia called this a 'super quickie'.

Pia's the boss of this one.
It depends on numbers I think, otherwise we're headed straight for the July OWC.

Could be interested but wont be able to write this weekend because I'm out of town... so it would really be dependent on that.

Maybe a 3 or 4 day writing window for a 1 to 3 page script? That will cover the people that can and can't write over the weekend.

Update. Don is the one that handles the technical stuff of the OWCs. He asked that we wait until July, because he's got other things to handle at the moment. BUT, keep an eye out, when I get the go ahead, it will happen fast. Fast, short and sweet, just the way I like it.

We haven't had a one pager in a while. Quick to write and quick to read.  Would probably be on board for one of those.

Some of my scripts:

Bounty (TV Pilot) -- Top 1% of discoverable screenplays on Coverfly
I'll Be Seeing You (short) - OWC winner
The Gambler (short) - OWC winner
Skip (short) - filmed
Country Road 12 (short) - filmed
The Family Man (short) - filmed
The Journeyers (feature) - optioned

We'll see how things turnout. Maybe Don would prefer a regular OWC if it happens later in July. I just had this specific idea I wanted to try, but it can be done at any time.

Yeah, I was going to do one, but that was back in June and that was not a good time for Don. Now it's not a good time for me. I'm working on three new features and a rewrite of Relentless. Hopefully two of those will be ready for the Screencraft horror comp. I haven't entered a comp in over five years.
