Braces! Puberty! A coming of age story!
Braces! Dentistry! Horror at the dentist's office! The Invisalign Man!
...maybe I'm too eager for clues. |

It could be any of the following, according to Webster's:
noun 1. a device fitted to something, in particular a weak or injured part of the body, to give support. "a neck brace"
2. BRITISH a pair of straps that pass over the shoulders and fasten to the waistband of a pair of trousers or a skirt at the front and back to hold it up; suspenders.
VERB
1. make (a structure) stronger or firmer with wood, iron, or other forms of support. "the posts were braced by lengths of timber"
2. prepare (oneself) for something difficult or unpleasant. "both stations are bracing themselves for job losses"
Or my favorite -- Maybe it's regarding the scoring of two goals in a soccer match (Messi has a brace!)

Hoping this challenge will light a fire under my ass. I’ve been in quite a malaise of late and could use a good kick in the seat!! |

Oh, how they come out of hiding when little OWC clues come to the surface. Always lurking in the shadows until...brace yourself!
I'm embraced. |
