Uwe Boll responds to the "Anti Uwe Boll Petition", and in doing so actually calls himself a genius multiple times. Sheer hilarity. Video can be viewed here |

Jeez, Uwe sounds pissed in that video ha ha.
I checked out the trailer for Postal and it stars Scut Farkus!! Compared to Uwe's other films it actually looks good...
...but that's not saying much. |

This was hilarious. As incompetent a filmmaker as Uwe Boll is, I wish more filmmakers had the guts to call their contemporaries "fucking retards" or "social critic George Clooney bullshit." I wouldn't hold my breath for a pro-Boll petition though. |

Haha. I've also signed the petition. I personally don't think his movies are as bad as people say... well... scratch that. Most of his movies do suck. But Alone in the Dark was decent.

Here's the plot for his movie Postal:
Quoted Text The story begins with a regular Joe who tries desperately to seek employment, but embarks on a violent rampage when he teams up with cult leader Uncle Dave. Their first act is to heist an amusement park, only to learn that the Taliban are planning the same heist as well. Chaos ensues, and now (Joe) must not only take on terrorists but political figures as well. |
The poster for this movie looks like something you'd find in the 'post your movie poster' thread here on the boards. Why aren't there more people signing the petition? Phil |

I think it won't matter much since he pratically funds all the movies he makes. A good majority of them he has written himself. What I find amazing is how does he have so much money to do these?

A loophole in German tax law that essentially rewards flops ala The Producers (really). The loophole has since been corrected, which I think is one of the reasons Boll is even considering to stop making movies. |

We had a similar loophole in the Australian taxation system where movies made in Australia were tax deductible, so it was a lot easier for local film makers to get financial backing. It led to a lot of bad films being made but it also got a few good ones made too. I wish they’d bring it back. It’d be a real shot in the arm for our film industry. |

We need something Chris, I have tried to watch a few Aussie films since being over here but there is an awful lot of rubbish being made.
Most Australian movies at the moment seem to be about serious issues, the struggles of the aborigines or the harsh lives of early settlers. All very noble and good but surely there is room for more home grown thrillers / comedies / horrors etc...
I saw an Australian movie called 'Noise' last year about a cop who suffering from tinnitus while trying to catch a killer. It was interesting but bloody depressing and bleak, and that is the best Aussie film I have seen since Wolf Creek.
If someone came up with a great script set in Aus is there anyone to produce it? |

Don't know. It's hard to make a buck as a screenwriter here because for starters it's hard to get Aussie audiences to see Aussie films in large numbers. Secondly, most Aussie producers can only afford to make films on a small budget which inevitably means that Aussie scripts have to be dialogue driven and Shazza and Dazza from the burbs aren't interested in that arty farty stuff, so it's not going to get released at a multiplex. But I guess if you've got the talent and you’re resourceful enough anything is possible. Just ask Uwe Boll. |
