“Put to flight” is a battle term for causing your enemy to run away.

Thanks Breanne.

I thought it had something to do with birds.  Of course that'd be a lot of birds for just one to put to flight.

“Flight” can also mean "running away."

Animals who run fast and have eyes on the sides of their heads, such as horses, are sometimes referred to as “flight animals.”

Deuteronomy 32:30

Basically, it means that one person, by the will of God, can overcome those who come against him (put them to flight - defeat them and cause them to run away), even if they be numbered in thousands.

Joshua 23:10 One of your men puts to flight a thousand, for the LORD your God is He who fights for you, just as He promised you.

Deuteronomy 32:30 How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?

In other words, having God on your side is a force multiplier.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm trying to incroporate the idea into a script.  Two Marines surrounded by a hundred Taliban Insurgents.  Needless to say it's gonna take some divine intervention to get 'em out alive.

Look up the film "Zulu" (1963, British film, starring Stanley Baker and Michael Caine). It may help.

I can't my exploding pig suggestion was deleted.

Muslims consider the pig to be a disgusting and dirty animal.  Being in contact with one is a sin.  Being in contact with one before dying could damn you to Muslim hell (depending on who you ask).

Exploding pig.  Strap a bomb on its back and cut him lose.

The old exploding pig trick, eh?  That's second time I've seen that this week.
