Thanks for the congrats everyone. I’m very excited about it. The project will take place in Seattle, which means I can get involved, at least to some small degree. I love having my work produced but I get especially excited about the opportunity to get involved in some way.
Is this script posted in this forum? |
It was. I removed it, revised it, and put it on Inktip. On another note, I probably won’t be around for awhile. Unfortunately, my computer was infected with the 2010 virus. It looks like drastic measures will have to be taken. I’ll probably have to clear my hard drive. I’m busy saving all the files I can right now. My work is all backed up and I have an external hard drive I can disconnect, which helps immensely, but it may take weeks to get it all sorted out completely. I’m on my husband’s laptop in a rare moment of being free for me to use. My poor husband is getting the brunt of things. He’s the technical one. I really appreciate all the kind words. Thank you. Congratulations Breanne! I'm glad that you had everything in back up, but still getting a virus is really something we don't need in life. Not in our bodies and not on our computers.
The very best to you for 2010!

Congratulations, Breanne.
Know you won't be around for a while, but does anyone else know the length of the script? Don't receive Ink Tip newsletter, so am a little curious. I recall it being somwhere around 30 pages, maybe, so wonder if it was fleshed out to a feature?
Good to see that SS member are doing well.

I have a few minutes with the laptop.
Quoted from Ledbetter Is that the script with the older woman in it who has death visit? |
Something like that. The logline is: Margaret Crumple is a cantankerous 65 year old woman and this is her last day on Earth. Death personified waits for her but Margaret has a few things to do before she goes and Death will just have to hold off. Along the way the two become unlikely companions in this bittersweet Comedy/Drama.
Quoted from dogglebe I take it this wasn't a Sonja script. |
No -- haha -- this is a Bre script.

I think it was originally around 26 pages. I revised it and cut it to around 21 pages. It’s still a short, though it has a complete 3 act story and could be expanded to a feature. Inktip has a shorts section for writers who have features posted at the site. Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. Breanne |

Congratulations Breanne!!!!
I have a question for you. If this was optioned, not purchased, what kind of budget are they going to try to raise for it? Sounds like they're serious. It's always nice to see a quality short. |

Thanks, Pia. I don’t really have permission to release any information publicly about the target budget. I have to respect the filmmaker's right to decide what info gets released. Honestly, though, I don’t really know. I don’t know what resources he has available. I wrote the script with a very low budget in mind in hopes that would increase the odds of securing funds for the producer. Basically, it was the story and the low budget combined that led to the option. The director has a prior film credit for the short film War of the Grandmas. I’m confident in the director’s abilities. I’m hoping that between his skills, quality actors, and the relatively low budget necessary to produce the script -- and of course the awesome story I wrote -- that the film will turn out top notch.
