I know I haven't been on SS very long and don't know you well but I wanted to wish you a very happy birthday. You are a massive contributor to SS and have given lots of advice to newbie writers like myself which is always appreciated. All the best.
Also, it's Australia Day so if you had been born here in Oz, you would have been given a gold birth certificate. How about that!
Celebrate today by writing another feature. Just kidding...

Hey Steve!
I know you well enough to know that you're the kind of bloke SS needs to persevere! Without new contributing members like yourself, these forums would be diminished.
My fortieth year of loitering this planet went pretty damn spiffy. SS and its active members are at the core of my professional advances. Without that support, I would've never tackled the pitch con scene last summer.
Those feelings of accomplishment were solidified here in a subsequent podcast. Which gave me the boost I needed to further pursue those kind of events. In turn, that led to meeting Babz at another pitch event. All the while, my friends here being so generous with their time and thoughts.
Without the SS team, Red Sun would still be a 150 page first draft disaster! Maybe I should post a page out of that one day, LOL!
Personally, I couldn't have asked for much more progress as well. Dropped forty pounds this past year and kept it off. My partner in crime and I are custom made for a future together. And I got a killer deal on my under $35k dream car.
I'm truly humbled by your generosity of spirit and mind. You guys are the bee's knees and I'm the better for knowing you.
Warmest Regards to All, E.D.
P.S. Australia Day?!?! Wow, guess I need to have an Aussie birthday soon! Most exciting thing here on that date is the New England Patriots lost two Super Bowls!

Hey Gabe!
Thanks for the well wishes! Actually....I *AM* writing a feature today, LOL! Trying to finish up an act so I can celebrate this weekend. The New Beverly Cinema is showing a brand new print of one of my all time faves...
I've never seen it on the big screen, so what a happy coincidence!
Regards, E.D.

Hope it goes well for you Brett both, the script and the celebration. If you need a fresh pair of eyes, let me know.

Happy Birthday, Brett! Sounds like you're off to a good start and the weekend is right around the corner. Hope 2012 proves to be a fantastic year for you.

I can't live the buttoned-down life like you. I want it all. The dizzying highs, the terrifying lows, the creamy middles. Sure, I may offend some of the blue bloods with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called "city fathers," who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards and talk about what's to be done with this Homer Simpson?
I bet Brady and his Bunch are secretly happy not be fending off the SF D
The Niners had a great season, Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the big show next year. But the press and the league got the match up they wanted. The hype, the ratings, the rematch....the REVENGE for a perfect season destroyed.
It's everything an ad salesman could hope for to sell commercial slots.
Thanks to All for the great birthday wishes. It helped to cushion the blow of some not so great news I got.
All in all, my birthday played out like a movie. Ups and downs with goals to achieve and obstacles making it harder. So, I guess it was an appropriate day for a writer!
Cheers to All. It's 6 am, time to start writing!
Regards, E.D.

I know it's late and your birthday was days ago and I know I've already posted on your birthday thread days ago and you more than likely dont even read this thread anymore but I wanted to wish you a happy birthday.
I know I have already posted twice on this thread but I wanted to wish you a happy Birthday.
Shawn.....><
LOL! Thanks, Mark and Shawn.
At this rate, the thread will still be on the portal a week after the actual birthday! I was going to go out last weekend, but ordered Chinese and crashed instead. These new projects are sapping most of my social energy. I'll kick back for the Super Bowl at least!
Regards, E.D.
